Sauna hut next to the creek.　There was a creek running right next to it, so one could cool one's warm body in the creek and then go back in.

Swedes love saunas.　They are especially popular during the cold winter months, including Midsummer festivals.　Many families have saunas in their homes.

There was a beautiful stream running through the campground, and water from this stream could be used for many purposes.

The campground grounds are quite large.　The campground is connected to a hiking trail that allows visitors to enjoy the great outdoors.

Lofsdalen, Härjedalen

The weather in Sweden starts to reach temperatures above 10 degrees Celsius in June, when it is finally possible to take off one's jacket and not feel chilly.

June is full of fun events in Sweden.　June 6 is a national holiday, Foundation Day of Sweden (Svenska flaggans dag). The day is called "Swedish Flag Day". The Swedes try not to make as less nationalist as possible in many ways. Well, but this day celebrate the foundation of the modern Sweden when Gustav Vasa decided to leave the Kalmar Union in 1523.　And there are many events leading up to June 21, the summer solstice.　Midsummer, the summer solstice festival, is an important event, and many people return to their parents' homes to spend time with their families on this day, just like Obon in Japan.

I have often spent Midsummer festivals in Stockholm, but this year I hope to invite some of my friends from the language school to join me in Härjedalen.

So we went to preview the campground in Lofsdalen.　In winter, Lofsdalen is crowded with skiers, but in summer it is a campground that attracts many visitors from all over Sweden.　It is a very popular tourist destination, especially during the Midsummer Festival.

There were various types of camp sites.　Some campsites looked like tents, while others were camp shacks in the shape of buildings unique to the area.　One that looked particularly interesting was a sauna next to a creek.　In summer, it is very popular to take a sauna and then swim in the creek, and I hope to celebrate Midsummer with my friends this year.

ロフトダーレン、ヘリエダーレン地方

スウェーデンの気候は６月から１０度を超える気温になり、やっと上着を脱いでも肌寒く感じない季節に入ります。

６月はスウェーデンでは楽しいイベントがたくさんあります。　６月６日は国立記念日で祝日です。　そして、夏至である６月２１日に向けてたくさんのイベントが開催されます。　夏至祭りである、ミッドサマーは大切なイベントで、この日は日本のお盆のように実家に帰省して家族と過ごす人がたくさんいます。

夏至祭りはよくストックホルム市内でこれまでは過ごしていたのですが、今年は語学学校で友達になった友人たちをさそってヘリエダーレンへ一緒に遊びに行けたらいいなと思っています。

そこで、ロフトダーレンにあるキャンプ場の下見をしに行きました。　冬はスキー客に賑わうロフトダーレンですが、夏はキャンプ場として多くのお客さんがスウェーデン全土から集まります。　特に夏至祭りの期間はとても人気のある観光地です。

キャンプサイトはいろんなタイプのキャンプサイトがありました。　テントのようなキャンプもありますし、この地域独特の建物の形をしたキャンプ小屋もありました。　特に面白そうだったのが、小川の横にあったサウナです。　夏はサウナに入って、そのあとは川で泳ぐのがとても人気があって、わたしも今年は友達たちと一緒にサウナに入って、夏至祭りを祝えるといいなと思いました。キャンプサイトを見た後、今年の夏至祭りがますます楽しみになってきました。
