What would you like to do when you travel to a new country where you have never been before? It was a bit sudden to decide to visit Tel Aviv, we did not have much time to check and search where to visit while we were in Tel Aviv. To tell the truth, I did not have any idea what we can do in Tel Aviv for sightseeing. But, I really wanted to visit Raoul Wallenberg Street where is named after a Swedish diplomat who saved many people during World War Second. He was such a brave man to do so during the war, and I was very moved to see how people respect him in Israel. There is a piece of artwork that is related to Raoul Wallenberg in Stockholm, but it was pretty cool to see something like this artwork in Israel. We have got to keep in mind how hard it is to maintain peace but so easy to break it if we forget what really happened in the past. We have got to keep learning from the past.

Then, we went to a Georgian restaurant. It was my first time eating Georgian food. For me, when I hear the word “Georgia”, I recall a sumo wrestler, Toshinoshin. He is from Georgia and became a sumo wrestler. He was such a strong sumo wrestler and I really like him. I like sumo wrestlers who are from outside of Japan. Haha. Maybe I am an expat, so I feel how hard must be to live in a foreign country. When I was eating the food, I was thinking that “This is what he ate in Georgia. Well, it must be pretty difficult to find something like this in Japan...Too bad that we do not have Georgian restaurants in Japan.” They use a lot of olive oil for Georgian food. I loved the flavor and smell of the food. They really know how to cook olives and cheese well! And also, I became a fan of their wine! We ordered a bottle of Georgian wine called Old Tbilisi. Amazing! OK! I have got to visit Georgia someday!!

What a beautiful country Israel is. I loved walking on the beautiful beaches in Tel Aviv. It was pretty hot when we visited there, but when the sun was going down, many people came out to the beach and hanged out. They were enjoying the cool breeze as the sun went down, and the sunset was just speechless! I want to go back there someday once again!
