Christmas market in Gamla Stan, Stockholm

The other day, I went to the Christmas market at Gamla Stan in the old town of Stockholm.　On that day, I bought some mustard to put on Christmas ham, which I was planning to eat at a party at my house at the end of the year.

Later, I had another chance to visit Gamla Stan and took many pictures.　It was very enjoyable because I was able to take a leisurely walk around the old city for the first time in a while.　At this time of year, there is a Christmas market and the whole town is covered with beautiful Christmas lights.　It is very beautiful, especially with the reflections from the snow on the streets, creating a very beautiful atmosphere.

Gamla Stan was founded in the Middle Ages, and the entire town is made of cobblestones.　Walking through the cobblestone streets, you will feel as if you have been transported back in time to the world of medieval fantasy stories.

Stockholm Palace

A short walk from Gamla Stan, I could see Stockholm Palace, and I took a short walk.　The palace was also beautiful, with beautiful Christmas lights.　There is a huge Christmas tree in the front yard of the palace, and it was beautiful to see it again this year.

Royal Opera House

After strolling in front of the palace, we walked a little further to the Royal Gardens.　There is an ice skating rink there during the winter, and it is free for everyone to enjoy.　I always want to learn how to ice skate at this time of the year, but it never happens.　This year I hope to make a friend to learn ice skating with.

It is really cold this time of year, so cold that just walking outside can make you feel a bit fatigued, but it is still fun to stroll around town looking at these Christmas lights.

ガムラスタンのクリスマスマーケット

先日、ストックホルムの旧市街である「Gamla Stan ガムラスタン」にクリスマクマーケットに行ってきました。　その日は年末にわたしの家でパーティーをする際にみなんで食べようと思っていたクリスマスハムに塗るマスタードなどを買いました。

その後、またガムラスタンに行く機会があって、色々と写真を撮ってみました。　久しぶりにゆっくりと旧市街を散歩できたのでとても楽しかったです。　この時期はクリスマスマーケットが開催されていたりと、町中がきれいなクリスマスイルミネーションで包まれています。　ともてきれいで、特に道に積もった雪からの反射でキラキラときらめいて見えて、とても美しい雰囲気を作り出しています。

ガムラスタンは中世の時代に作られた町で、町全体は石畳でできています。　石畳の街中を歩いていると、中世のファンタジー物語の世界にタイムスリップした感覚になります。

ストックホルム宮殿

ガムラスタンから少し歩いたらストックホルム宮殿が見えてくるのですが、散歩を兼ねて少し歩いてみました。　宮殿もきれいなクリスマスイルミネーションをしていて、とても綺麗でした。　宮殿の前庭には巨大なクリスマスツリーがあって、それも今年も観れてきれかったです。

宮殿の前を散歩してからは、もう少し歩いて王立庭園まで行きました。　そこはアイススケートリンクが冬の間は併設されていて、無料で誰でも楽しめます。　いつもこの時期になるとアイススケートを学びたいと思っているのですが、なかなか実現しません。　今年はだれか一緒にアイススケートを学ぶ友達ができたらいいなと思っています。

この時期は本当に寒く、外で歩いているだけで少し倦怠感を感じるほど寒いのですが、それでもこのようなクリスマスイルミネーションを見ながら町を散策するのは楽しいものです。
