My favorite place in Sweden, Härjedalen 🇸🇪🎁🎄

For foreigners (or immigrants) living and working abroad, it is really hard to create a place that they can consider "home 🏡". As a foreigner (like myself), you are probably supported by many people until you get used to living in that country.

海外に住み、仕事をしている外国人(もしくは、移民)にとって、「家」と思える場所を作るには本当に大変なことです。外国人として、その国での生活になれるまでは、多くの人に支えられ生活しているのではないでしょうか。

I would like to thank my Swedish family 😆😌🤟 for spending the last few days of the Christmas vacations ❄🎁🎄with me. Corona did not allow me to return to Japan, but instead I was able to feel "home" in this beautiful "Härjedalen".

このクリスマス休暇の数日間を一緒に過ごした、スウェーデンの家族には心から感謝しています。コロナによって日本へ帰国はできなかったのですが、その代わりの、この美しい「Härjedalen」で「家」を感じることが出来ました。

Sweden is now one of the richest countries in the world, but a century ago it was also one of the poorest, with a quarter of its population emigrating abroad in search of work and a better life.

スウェーデンは現在、世界でも有数の裕福な国になったのですが、やく100年前は国民の1/4が海外に職やより良い生活を求め移民した、有数の貧困に直面した国でもありました。

I was told that the Härjedalen region is where most of its people emmigrated outside of Sweden. Many of them emigrated to the United States and the United Kingdom. I was deeply moved to think that this beautiful landscape of Härjedalen contains such a history.

I felt that Sweden's prosperity today is due to the fact that it has built a diverse and flexible society, treating immigrants and refugees with a spirit of tolerance. Some people say that Swedes are cold and that Sweden is a cold country, but I think Swedes are warm and hardworking people.

寡黙だけど働き者で真面目、そしてお酒が入ると陽気になる優しい心を持ったスウェーデン人だからこそ、移民や難民に対して寛容の心で接し、多様性と柔軟性のある社会を築いているスウェーデンだからこそ、今日の繁栄があるのではと思いました。

The issue of refugees and immigrants is controversial, but looking at the beautiful nature of Härjedalen 🏞 , I felt that Sweden is now returning the favor, even if only indirectly, to the countries whose citizens immigrated in the past.

賛否両論のある難民や移民の問題ですが、このHärjedalen の美しい自然をみていると、かつて自国民が移民していった国に対して、今のスウェーデンは間接的にでも恩返しをしているのかなぁなんて思いました。
