Gokarna is a small town in Karnataka state on the Arabian Sea, known for its exquisite beaches and temples. Had been here for the third time in December 2020. It was very spontaneous and we ended up driving 200 kms just to watch the sunrise. But was it worth it?
We had a three-day flea market called ‘Namma Flea’ (Our Flea in Kannada) in Mangalore where I was invited. I was there along with

On the second day, the event lasted till 11 PM and we were all enjoying ourselves through it and stayed back to talk until 12.15 AM. That’s when one of the new friends I had made suggested we should all go to a beach to watch the sunrise and spend some time there. We all agreed, except
So, we started discussing which beach to go to since we have 6+ here in our city. That’s when my friend randomly said “Gokarna would be great” and that got me excited. I tried and somehow convinced the rest of them to go. Most of them had work the next day and it wasn’t very easy to convince but I did succeed, so yayyy!
And there we were driving to Om Beach, Gokarna at 1:00 AM and having karaoke sessions in the car to keep everyone from sleeping.

Completely sleep-deprived, we drove to our destination while taking frequent breaks to caffeinate. We finally reached the entrance and walked down to the Paradise Beach. It was still quite dark. We climbed up the rocks and sat there talking for a while with cool breeze sweeping past us.
There it was. The sun was finally rising. The beauty and serenity we witnessed is just hard to describe well enough. You can just take a look instead.
