Millions of Thais have traveled around the country last week during the Songkran Festival, which is a long holiday and also a national holiday in Thailand. It marks the beginning of the Thai New Year. Most Thais are returning to their hometowns, while some Thais choose to go on holiday with family or friends, and I'm the one among some Thais who decide to go on holiday instead of back to my hometown. 😃
since my daughter studying at university and really hard to have a holiday, the Songkran holiday is so precious to us. This time we decided to head out to Chanthaburi, a seaside province located in the eastern Gulf of Thailand. There are various natural attractions such as beaches, waterfalls, historic areas, and also famous seafood and fruit paradise as well.
The city is not far from Chon Buri, where I live. It is just approximately 200 kilometers away and takes around 2.5 hours to get there. we try to avoid traveling during peak periods, so we head off at 8 am. in the morning on the first day of the Songkran holidays on Apr 11, when most Thais still work and the official Songkran holiday period is April 13-17.
Chanthaburi In 3 Days 2 Night!
For this 3 Days 2 Night trip, we are staying at Chivaree Hotel And Resort. On the way drove we traveled through the Chon Buri to Ra Yong and continued driving to Chanthaburi and experienced the road trip on Sukhumvit Road, the coastal route on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand.
As every main street in Thailand. Sukhumvit Road is one of the well-known spots for seeing wild animals crossing the road. The warning signs also warn about several types of animals such as elephants, deer, buffaloes, and crabs! 😀

A Welcoming Stone Yard Area
There is a stone way that separates to left and the right way.
The pond creates a refresh and tunes all the guest mood to become one with nature.
Nature is starting to call us. Let's walk together.
Moving on to the Lobby
Chivaree Resort is a rustic style with a large reception at the first entrance.
The lobby is decorated with a mix of COVID-19 prevention facilities including alcohol-based hand sanitizers.
We have a staff on standby to check for symptoms and do temperature checks and also see our vaccination record.
The Lobby with the Bali style of decoration is very amazing. Apart from the reception and check-in zone, this area also serves as a lounge area with the wood sofa set provided.
On this specific occasion, visitors and guests are invited to sprinkle water mixed with Thai traditional perfume onto a Buddha statue and ask for a blessing.
The Cozy Dining Hall
On the opposite side of the lobby is the dining room which we will come to the next morning for having breakfast that offers for free to all guests.
The pond is decorated with a very large clay water jar. These old Thai traditional clay jars with a dragon pattern from the Ratchaburi province were made to contain the water in the old days. In the past, when the air has not polluted, rain was the main source of drinking water for Thais, especially in rural areas where no tap water.
All room is on the other side of the resort, the chalet is connected to the swimming pool.
A Bright Blue Color of swimming pool
We are always surrounded by shady palm trees and plants. There are big palm trees everywhere and small plants that grow around the swimming pool. It makes us feel relaxed and refreshed. And we could get a beautiful scene of the comfortable atmosphere while we walk as well.
Most of the guest rooms are arranged along with the large pool at the center of the resort.
The resort is decorated perfectly with bungalows in ancient Thai style next to the beach which also gives a cozy beach feeling.
The Chivaree Resort is filled with green color, added with the bright blue color of the swimming pool along the way to our room.
Our Amazing Wooden Boat House
I decide to book this resort after checking the discount from the Thailand Tourism Organization which TOT will subsidize hotel accommodation at 40% of the room rate because they want to encourage people to travel and help the hotel and tourism business. Actually, it cost around 100 USD per chalet, which I should pay around 60 USD. So I book directly with the hotel and they are so kind to discount more. So I just pay only 42 USD at the end including breakfast, which considers quite cheap for this fantastic beachfront and sea view deluxe room. 😀
It's a very nice place and extremely private, which is isolated from another chalet and just directly connect to the beach with a few steps.
The Deluxe Boat House Sea view of Chivaree Resort is the best choice for us with a room size of 35 square meters, a single bed, and even a mosquito repellent curtain.
A mosquito repellent curtain fits well and also completely blocks all the mosquitos. They will totally protect us from annoying insects and bring us a perfect sweet sleep.
The room is fully furnished with a make-up table, closet, and sitting area. The room is clean enough and the restroom is separated between wet and dry areas and also provides a hairdryer, coffee maker, tv, and refrigerator. They have it all!
Lunch Box Time
After a long journey drive and we didn't visit any restaurant because I'm a bit panicked with Covid 19. So I did prepare an easy lunch box and carried it with us.
So it's time to fulfill our stomach so we eat it up in a very short time.
From the balcony, leaning out on the bent a bit with beachfront and green shady. Such a relaxed feeling in a very calm atmosphere. We feel very comfortable that I don't want to do anything. Just cool down the stressful brain and exhausted mind with grass of cool icy drink and listen to the rhythm of the sea.
I will have to end the first part of Chivareed Resort here. But there are a lot of things to see more at Chivareed Resort. I hope I'll find time to post the second part as soon as possible. Thank you all for reading and hope you enjoy it. Happy Day!! 🌴🌞🌊🏖
