Hello everyone
I am . Wish you guys are fine and away from diseases with the blessings of the almighty Allah. Today I am going to describe about one the biggest history carrier in Bangladesh Chotto Shona Mosque.
Choto Shona Mosque is a famous place in Bangladesh. It is situated at Chapai Nawabganj district in Rajshahi division. Basically, this famous mosque is located just beside the land port name Shona Mosjid Land Port at Shahabazpur. Basically, this mosque was build during the time of Alauddin Hussain Shah's dominion in between 1490 and 1520.
This mosque has 15 domes. Once upon a time all these domes were gilded. That's why this mosque was named Chotto Shona Mosque. At the present time there is no gold in it because The British took all the gold from the mosque's dome when they left Bengal.
This is one of the best protected Sultan cenotaph in the world by the Archaeologists. Basically, the mosque is in rectangular shape. It was made by burned bricks and stone which looks so beautiful and the construction work is a dichotomy of praise. The east wall of the mosque has five arched doors and these are rich in ornaments.
Another thing of the mosque is, the tomb of The freedom fighter and Birsrestha Captain Mohiuddin Jahangir is at inside this mosque boundary. This makes the mosque more Honored and Holy.
The tomb is well decorated by the Bangladesh Government with due respect. Inside of the mosque is more beautiful. There are five mihrabs inside the mosque along the five doors of the eastern wall. The middle one is bigger in size and the design of each is semi-circular. There are 6 pillars inside the mosque.
One of the main features of this mosque is that only five domes can be seen from any side of outside but the back domes are not visible. All the domes can be seen only from the upper view.
