Hello, dear Hive community,
I like to share my adventures and travels with you from past in 2019 from India.
Therefore, enjoy my Kerala story!
My journey started in Hamburg 01.03 2019 with a flight ticket for 250 euro straight to south India, to one of my favourite place on earth, Kerala.
The first stop was in Istanbul in Turkey, then Dubai and here due to some reasons I even can't describe I missed the flight to Katar.
That was an unpleased surprise, as I was trying to travel cheap. Somehow I managed the situation and got another ticket with a direct connection from Dubai to Kerala.
Again I was up in the air. I quickly connected with my seat neighbour, as we found out that we are travelling in the same direction. Spontaneously, I decided to go together with him fore some time.
Coming out from the airport was great. I was very happy to get my first south Indian meal, some puri with green vegetable curry. It was just so delicious, and I felt like being transported to haven.
Travelling blind without a plan is for me the best way to travel. Always go with the flow, if it's hitchhiking, hiking or travelling by bus or train.
I decided to visit some old friend from my travels in 2012 in Erumely.
The bus journey started directly from the Cochin International Airport through Cochin city and to Kottayam. From here, it was only a few more bus stops far away to reach Erumaly where I could rest and surprise my old friend Anil.
But life comes unexpected, so I was sitting in the bus with anticipation of what lay ahead when a person behind me started asking me if he could sit next to me.
"Hello I am Unni" (Aji) and I said "I am Steffen", and we became friends.
He told me he is going to visit his family in Idukki, a mountain area in Kerala with jungle, tea plantation and a lot of animals like snakes, tigers, and elephants. He invited me to come with him.
This was an amazing opportunity, as I never visited the local people in the unknown areas of the beautiful landscape of Idukki.
If you like to see how the travels went, you are welcome to watch the videos I made from my travels.
Stay tuned and I see you in the next one.
Lots of Love,
Steffen
