Hi there Hive Family,
Last weekend was full of adrenaline and high altitude breathtaking sightseeings. We started our adventure very early. About 4 o'clock I was already awake and preping food and my backpack necessities. A few hours later as the sun rose, we were at the village of Popina Luka and decided to visit a very famous and beautiful waterfall there.
Some of the surrounding houses and the waterfall.
The waterfall is so beautiful. I am not going to lie, we had already prepared beforehand and wanted to do the Wim Hof Method today before our hike, so we did it and it felt invigorating.
I already had my bathing robe with me and flip flops. Everything went smoothly and we gained some additional energy from the cold dip.
We drove for 30 minutes more and stopped at the beginnign of the walk of peace trail. We headed towards Begovitsa Hut.
The trail was in most parts normal, but had some icy regions so we had to be careful as we walked without crampons for the moment.
We reached the hut relatively quick. A mountain dog welcomed us all as we merged with another group on our way up.
Inside, there was a very cute and relaxed cat dorming near a fireplace and the room temeprature was very pleasing. I enjoyed very much her presense while taking a snack break.
We left the hut refreshed and ready for the main alpine course. We passed the famous Dakov bridge and also some snowmobile vehicles by.
The scenery is just breathtaking and this is just the beginning.
I love the panoramic photo as it shows everything at once.
We had to overcome very steep terrains and then descend and ascend again and again. A pain that we will have to do one more time on our way back. It is what it is.
As the clouds were spreading from time to time, we could see some sunlight resembling a sunset, although it was only late afternoon.
It is now time to overcome the most difficult part of our adventure. We left our backpacks behind not to be bothered with additional weight that we did not need at the moment.
Views from the high altitutes. Snow cornices and boards everywhere. We had to be careful and calculate our every step.
As the sun was approching its setting, we needed to descend earlier. It was getting dark already. It was an amazing experience.
We sat down and enjoyed the sunset in its whole beauty.
Back views of the mountain at the time of the sunset. We can see some small snow boards on some of the slopes. A trully wonderful place.
Thank you for checking out my blog :)
Stay happy, be peaceful!
