This afternoon I took my new bicycle out on the boulevard in downtown Charleston. I found multiple locations to take posed photographs. Continue forth to absorb my material.
Blossoms = Blessings
As soon as I got to the start point of my route, I happened upon this tree. Spring is here at last! The ground was sprinkled in tiny little leaves. This was an epic place to take a few photos before I began to sweat profusely.
The halfway marker
By the time I had progressed 50% through my 4.5 mile ride, I found another cool spot to setup and snap a few more pictures. This is one of the many entryways to the lower part of the path along the river. You may notice my basket is storing my Berkey filtered water & my Bose speaker. It even has a slot perfectly designed for me to put my iPhone inside of. .
Bicycle by the bridges
The two bridges in the distance are a stellar backdrop for the slick looking Huffy Nel Luso that I was gifted for my 27th birthday this past October 9th (thanks Papaw.)
Architecture Conjecture
I have always been a fan of this unique structure on the river. Nothing short of proper now that I finally have a photo in front of it.
Up close and personal
I wear the mask to make those around me feel safer when I zoom past. #coronavirus
Cute amblers
I happened to catch these two furry friends on film as I was speeding by. I saw the same dogs during a walk yesterday.
My fitness stats
This was my first time riding a bicycle since last summer while I was at the beach. Before that it had been more than 5 years. In the statistics below you will see that I dealt with some elevation. My heart rate increased rapidly to over 200 BPM during that stint.
When it comes to cycling, my fitness goals are as follows:
• Better cardio.
• Build lower body strength.
• More core control.
• Burn off some fat.
• Increase grip strength.
I am able to track my stats with my Apple Watch Series 3.
Have you been exercising during the quarantine?
I find physical activity to be essential for my sanity. The weather is supposed to be around 80 degrees the next two days. Due to this, a large portion of the road along the boulevard will be closed this weekend to encourage safe social distancing. The warm weather will certainly have more people wanting to be outside, so this is a good move by the city. Although this may cause some slight issues with the flow of traffic when it comes to vehicles. This is going to allow pedestrians to safely stroll about the boulevard/road without having to get to close to other people.
Thanks for checking out my post!
All photos were shot by me using my iPhone XS and my Pivo Pod in #charleston, #wv (USA).
