Food is one of the major factors that affect our happiness, and simply enjoying a good meal can make us feel happy. In order to enjoy the nutrients your body needs in a delicious way, it is useful to have knowledge about your body and nutrients so that you can enjoy your meals while treating your body with care.
Our bodies are made up of the food we eat. The smallest unit of the body is the cell, and it is said that there are approximately 37 trillion, or 60 trillion cells. Tissues and organs in our body are also made of cells.
Since our body is a collection of cells, we can think of cell health = body health. In order to keep cells in a healthy state, it is necessary to deliver necessary nutrients to cells. Let us now dig a little deeper into cells.
Cells are composed of proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, nucleic acids, and minerals.
Cells are constantly being reborn into new cells through division. Old cells are reborn into new cells to maintain our bodies.
The period of time during which cells are renewed differs depending on the type of cell. For example, white blood cells are born in about 20 days, red blood cells in about 120 days, skin in about 28 days, and muscle in about muscle is about 60 days. Within a few years, most of the cells in the body, including bones, are replaced.
If the cells that are newly born can be reborn in a healthy state, it is likely that we will be able to maintain our health.
The materials needed for cellular rebirth come from the food we consume. Specifically, the materials needed are proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, nucleic acids, and minerals, which are the building blocks of cells.
The renewed cells then take the nutrients sent to them by the blood into their cells and produce the substances and energy needed by the body.
In order to maintain healthy cells, I will continue to pay attention to my daily diet. In my next article, I will write more specifically about the nutrients that the body needs.
That's all for this article.
Thank you for reading to the end. ^^
