Sin duda alguna que las películas donde están inmersas la acción, el drama, el suspenso y el misterio, siempre nos mantienen en vilo. Los famosos thriller están destinados a proporcionarnos todas esas emociones, porque están llenos de un ritmo dinámico y son mejor aún, cuando éstos filmes están interpretados por actores que han dejado huellas fabulosas a lo largo de su carrera. Es por ello que vemos a protagonistas que enfrentan a esos villanos nefastos o psicópatas de una manera magistral, que hacen que el público piense que por ejemplo, si interpretan a unos detectives, estemos en presencia de profesionales en el campo. Pero la verdad es que cada actor tiene que ser así, interpretar su papel generando la mayor realidad posible.
Ahora, siguiendo con el tema del thriller, aunque no soy amante del terror, este género me encanta un mundo. Estar en presencia de múltiples asesinatos y no saber quién lo hizo, encontrar pistas que pueden o no, llevarte a encontrar al asesino o a otra víctima, eso me llena de suspenso y me mantiene activo, porque realmente uno se convierte en un detective más y trata por todos los medios de descubrir al victimario. Y el que me diga que ve una película de éstas y no se involucra en la trama, está mintiendo, porque la intención de todo buen thriller es la de emocionar, estremecer y mantener absoluta tensión, generalmente hasta el fin del filme que es cuando se descubre toda la trama.
Pero me imagino que dirán, ¿Este está escribiendo tantas cosas, pero no nos dice de que se trata?, Bueno amigos, estamos hablando de la película Seven o Pecados Capitales. Un filme de los 90, específicamente del año 1995 protagonizada sencillamente por unos espectáculos de actores, entre ellos, Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kevin Spacey, pura crema, díganme ustedes si este cuadro no es un cuadro de honor. Lo que me gusta de esta película es que engloba múltiples géneros como el crimen, el drama, el neo-noir (cine negro con tinte actual), lo policíaco, el suspenso, el misterio y sobre todo lo psicológico. Mi intención aquí no es describir la película, por lo que no me gustaría dar detalles de los personajes para que no se enteren de quién es la persona que comete los horrendos crímenes, lo que si es cierto es que estos están basados en los 7 pecados capitales, así que si eres pecador, ¡Cuídate!.

Being in the presence of multiple murders and not knowing who did it, finding clues that may or may not lead you to find the murderer or another victim, that fills me with suspense and keeps me active, because you really become a detective and try by all means to discover the perpetrator. And whoever tells me that he watches a movie like this and doesn't get involved in the plot, is lying, because the intention of every good thriller is to thrill, shake and maintain absolute tension, generally until the end of the film, which is when the whole plot is uncovered.
But I imagine you will say, "He's writing so many things, but he doesn't tell us what it's about? Well friends, we are talking about the movie Seven or Deadly Sins. Como dije antes, Seven es un filme impactante, oscuro, que atrapa de principio a fin y que muchos pudieron pensar que sería un total fracaso, ya que la dirección estuvo bajo el lente de David Fincher quien en 1992 en su debut como director estuvo al mando de la película Alien 3 la cual no tuvo mucha receptividad, contando que sus antecesoras Alien y Alien el regreso si tuvieron mucho éxito bajo la cámara de Ridley Scott y James Cameron respectivamente. Pero no fue así, ya que Seven tuvo tanta aceptación que para ser una película con un presupuesto de 33 millones de dólares, alcanzó recaudar casi 10 veces su valor, es decir obtuvo 327.300.000 dólares, como dicen los mejicanos, no manches wey.
La cosa no quedó allí, porque luego de Seven David continuo la senda ganadora con filmes como el Club de la Pelea, Perdida, Zodiaco, la Chica del Dragón Tatuado, La Red Social, entre otras, y por cierto las he visto todas y me han gustado. Recordemos que en 1991 se estrenó El Silencio de los Inocentes, aquella película de Hannibal que no fue dirigida por David y aunque me gustó, para mí Seven es mejor porque la trama es más interesante, más movida, más misteriosa y eso me atrapa. Por otra parte, no podemos dejar de lado a Andrew Kevin Walker quien fue el encargado de la pluma que realizó tan extraordinario y sólido guión.
Él solo buscó compaginar un tema perverso introduciendo los siete pecados capitales, donde solo una mente maestra, diabólica y despiadada podría cometer tan bárbaros asesinatos. Claro está, que para desenredar tal telaraña, debían estar presentes otras mentes maestras que se dedicarán al análisis de toda las escenas nefastas. Todo esto lo buscó y lo plasmó Andrew en esta historia. Y para los que no saben cuáles son esos pecados, aquí los tienen, Gula, Lujuria, Pereza, Ira, Envidia, Avaricia y Soberbia.

Sencillamente me inclino ante estos personajes, las actuaciones son muy, pero muy buenas, cada uno haciendo lo suyo, no dejan nada al vacío aunque existe total coherencia en toda la trama. Aquí intervienen varios actores, sin embargo me voy con Brad Pitt aquel de entrevista con el vampiro, leyendas de pasión, doce monos, guerra mundial z y pare usted de contar, tiene dos Oscar en su haber, ahora aquí encarna a David Mills; Morgan Freeman ¿Quien no conoce a esta leyenda?, Quien no vió Mandela, todo poderoso, telaraña, impacto profundo, nominado 5 veces al Oscar y ganador como mejor actor de reparto en el filme golpes del destino.
En Seven, Freeman es William Somerset; Gwyneth Paltrow, a esta chica la ví por primera vez en en este filme y en Shakespeare Enamorado donde ganó el Oscar a mejor actriz, también la he disfrutado en en el asesinato perfecto, amor ciego, Ironman, Avengers, spiderman y pare usted de contar. Lógicamente en Seven es Tracy Mills. Y no podemos dejar por fuera a Kevin Spacey John Doe, Spacey también es un actor de leyenda que tiene en su haber muchas películas con excelentes interpretaciones, pero no puedo decirle todo aquí porque quiero dejarlos pidiendo más y con ganas de que vean esta película, que de por si no se van a arrepentir.
Sin embargo vamos a darles otros nombres para que sientan un poco más de intriga, porque hay que darle cabida a otros actores que bien o mal complementan una buena trama, y no se equivoquen porque puede ir de menos a más; ellos son Mark Boone Junior informante del FBI; Richard Portnow el Dr. Beardsley; Michael Massee hombre de la cabina; Leland Orser hombre en pánico. Ahora ustedes deberán estar bien atentos a cada detalle, a cada acción y a cada escena.

En esta trama se nos presenta a un detective que ya está a punto de jubilarse, cansado y que debe hacer pareja con el policía nuevo que cree que lo sabe todo, impulsivo. Ambos son del departamento de homicidios por lo que le es asignada la investigación de unos extraños asesinatos. El primero homicidio es un hombre sumamente obeso, quien al parecer fue obligado a comer hasta no poder más y morir. En las escenas siempre quedan pistas que Somerset y Mills deben seguir, por lo que descubren que los horrendos asesinatos tiene su base en los pecados capitales, y lógicamente la víctima obesa representa la gula. Las pistas recogidas en cada escena apuntan o orientan a la búsqueda de nuevos cuerpos, encontrando al siguiente quien representa la avaricia, lógicamente en este caso la persona asesinada será un abogado.
Ajá, pero como dije, cada pista apunta a otra víctima y esa será la tercera, la cual me asustó mucho. Porque en la escena anterior los detectives siguen unas huellas, hasta llegar al hogar del perezoso que ha estado atado a su cama, sino me equivoco durante un año y quien parece un cadáver. Este tipo es traficante de drogas y abusador de menores. Todo esto lo describo de acuerdo a lo que ví en la película, ahora ustedes deben descubrir si este tipo aún tiene vida. Lo cierto es que los detectives están convencidos de que el asesino no es cualquier loco, es una mente brillante que ha planeado todos los crímenes de una manera minuciosa y con mucha estrategia. Otro punto que me agrada de este filme y que me mantuvo siempre atento, fueron los escenarios, la ambientación estuvo a todo dar, la lluvia, lo oscuro, lo asqueroso de los sitios donde encuentran a las víctimas, todo está bien estructurado.

Another point that I like about this film and that kept me always attentive, were the scenarios, the setting was at its best, the rain, the dark, the disgusting places where they find the victims, everything is well structured.

Mientras el psicópata sigue en su planes por completar el rompecabezas en base a los pecados capitales, Somerset es invitado a la casa de los Mills y allí conoce a Tracy. Todos sabemos que Mills fue transferido a la ciudad que por cierto no le gusta porque le parece asquerosa. Tracy hace amistad con Somerset y le confiesa que está embarazada por no se lo ha dicho a su esposo, no sabe si tenerlo o abortar, no sabe cómo llegarle ya que conoce la actitud de Mills y lo que es capaz de hacer. Ahora, luego de estar entre amigos toca continuar con la investigación y al encontrar algunas pistas, tienen en su poder la dirección de un desconocido, pero antes en uno de los otros homicidios, como dice el dicho, el asesino siempre vuelve a la escena los detectives van subiendo las escaleras y se topan con un periodista sin importancia, pero ellos continúan.
Al descubrir la dirección del desconocido, éste no está en casa pero se lo consiguen en el pasillo y allí inicia la persecución, de hecho nadie sabe aún quien es el victimario. A Mills le perdonan la vida, sin embargo al entrar al apartamento descubren posibles víctimas pero llegan tarde. Solo les digo que deben ver la película para así descubrir quien es la lujuria, la soberbia, la envidia y la ira. Este filme tiene una particularidad, y es que aunque sabemos que se han cometido asesinatos y estos son horrendos, se deja a la imaginación del público cómo fueron realizados, les digo que los asesinatos son verdaderamente asquerosos, delen play porque el final es sumamente inesperado y muy emocionante, desde la forma del descubrimiento, hasta su desenlace; hasta los créditos son buenos, jajajaja.

Sin duda alguna como acoté al inicio, las actuaciones son muy buenas, un reparto sólido donde unos presentan un mayor perfil que otros pero que al final cada quien hace su trabajo. Unos detectives, que si bien es cierto hubo mayor actividad con Freeman, el papel de Brad estuvo a su medida, las astucia, el control del personaje y la inteligencia de ambos estuvieron perfectos. Aquí también se plasma a un victimario frío, calculador, un total psicópata que a pesar de iniciar con bajo perfil por no aparecer mucho, siempre se convierte en la diva del filme. Todo esto conjugado con una trama que atrapa, lo oscuro se evidencia y le da ese toque gótico que desde mi punto de vista no escapa a la realidad, ya que se han visto tantos asesinos en serie que cometen crimenes increíblemente horribles, y que alguien se base en pecados capitales no es descabellado.
Allí tienen al loco del asesino del zodiaco, un hecho real que David también llevó a la gran pantalla, en fin un thriller psicológico que a mi parecer ha servido de base para las películas actuales del género. Por otra parte la fotografía y la ambientación son el reflejo de una película de calidad. Lo oscuro, la pudredumbre de los sitios visitados están acorde en cada momento de la cinta, ni el agua de la lluvia limpia la ciudad. Con razón Mills aborrecía todos esos lugares, pero su actitud hizo su cambio inminente. Otra cosa que me llamó la atención fuen el grandioso final, grotesco, frío e inesperado, de verdad que jamás pensé ver un desenlace así. Y todo esto lo plasmó magistralmente el guionista con su pluma, para terminar de rematar con el director. Desde mi punto de vista, esta es una de las mejores películas del género y ellos lo lograron.

Here we also see a cold, calculating victimizer, a total psychopath who, despite starting with a low profile for not appearing much, always becomes the diva of the film. All this conjugated with a plot that traps, the dark is evident and gives it that gothic touch that from my point of view does not escape reality, since we have seen so many serial killers who commit incredibly horrible crimes, and that someone is based on capital sins is not unreasonable.
There you have the madman of the Zodiac killer, a real fact that David also took to the big screen, in short a psychological thriller that in my opinion has served as a basis for current films of the genre. On the other hand, the photography and the setting are the reflection of a quality film. The dark, the rottenness of the places visited are consistent at every moment of the film, not even the rainwater cleans the city. No wonder Mills loathed all those places, but his attitude made his change imminent. Another thing that caught my attention was the great ending, grotesque, cold and unexpected, I really never thought I would see such a denouement. And all this was masterfully captured by the screenwriter with his pen, to finish off with the director. From my point of view, this is one of the best films of the genre and they succeeded.

Sencillamente un filme muy bueno, ¡Ah!, no me puedo olvidar de la banda sonora dirigida por Howard Shore, la música un elemento que se conjuga con el ambiente para darnos mayor tensión y esperar lo inesperado. Para mí no cabe duda que David Fincher en llave con Andrew Walker hicieron un excelente trabajo. En la cinta aunque no sea explícito, se nota el morbo en cada crimen y en cada escena. Entonces amigos míos, los invito a disfrutar de esta envolvente película que de por si los mantendrá con mucha emoción, suspenso y la acción que se merece.
