My 12th Instacart paycheck 💸 🛒
Week 12 started slow and seemed to be a continuation of the prior week. Thankfully things did finally pick up a bit and I was able to earn myself a solid amount of money.
I plan on doing a weekly Instacart Financial Report like this one, so if you enjoy this kind of content be sure to follow me if you aren't already doing so.
I'm going to be breaking down each day of work individually. Luckily, the Instacart Shopper app makes that extremely easy to do. Let's go ahead and get things started.
Monday, March 27th
As you can see, there wasn't much happening on Monday. At least not anything I was willing to spend my valuable time and gasoline on. I worked a measly 51 minutes. I didn't even make it to a full hour, so my hourly wage doesn't really mean much.
I made about $26.47/hr on this day.
Anytime I get a slow day like this, I just accept it and move on. There is no reason to dwell or think that every day moving forward will be like this.
Tuesday, March 28th
As you can see, I got started pretty late on Tuesday. It wasn't until shortly after 2 pm that I got my first opportunity with a good order. It stayed pretty consistent until later that evening thankfully.
I made about $33.55/hr on this day.
It wasn't the most fantastic day ever, but far from the worst. I pretty much reached my $100/day goal and it sure beat Monday and a few days last week where I earned close to nothing.
Wednesday, March 29th
I committed most of my day to work on Wednesday. I got started pretty early and kept busy for most of the day. Once afternoon hit, things slowed down to a screeching halt. I was so close to giving up for the day but finally was awarded a $50 to double my earnings for the day.
I made about $42.43/hr on this day.
Getting over $100 again for the first time in several days is a good feeling. What I've read online is that the end of the month is often much slower than the beginning of it. I think we can blame this on people having bad money management skills. Who knows if that is the reason things have been slow the last few weeks. I'm hoping for this weekend to get back to the nice earnings I was receiving a month ago.
Thursday, March 30th
I was pressed for time on Thursday but still managed to make an effort to do two batches. Both of which were blessed with good tippers. I delivered to one of my regular customers again, she always tips extremely well. She was surprised at how fast I completed her shop.
Although I didn't have a ton of time to work Thursday, I did earn more than $0. I was happy I at least got some orders during the time period that I was free.
I made about $34.34/hr on this day.
There was an active promotion, but I didn't even come close to it. Had I completed it, I would have maybe gotten an extra $7.
This was a nice little rest day to prepare for what surely would be a busy weekend.
Friday, March 31st
Friday was such a nasty day weather-wise. It was raining all day and on top of that the orders weren't coming for most of the day. I did manage to get two solid ones halfway through the day, but early and late on Friday was dead.
I made about $33.64/hr on this day.
Although my hours worked were not that high, I'm at least continuing the trend of having a high hourly rate. If it weren't for the good tips that people leave me, then I would be screwed.
Saturday, April 1st
Good news for Saturday, I was able to stay busy for the majority of the day. The orders weren't spectacular, but I had a few really easy ones with good tips.
I made about $33.44/hr on this day.
I did screw up again though. My 2:17 order for $35 was a mess. I delivered to the first house and the man and his son were even nice enough to help me carry all the things to their front porch. I then drove to the second delivery and right as I was pulling up to their house I received a call from Instacart saying that my first customer had received the wrong order. I somehow managed to mix up orders A and B. Not only that, but the customer didn't even notice we were carrying in a bunch of stuff that he didn't even order. He was just as dumb as me in the situation. Luckily, I just went back and everything was fine. I wasted about 25 minutes and a little bit of gas. Not a bad price to pay for a big mistake.
Sunday, April 2nd
The week ended how I was hoping it would. I had orders, I got started early, and I also was able to finish early. You really can't ask for much more than that.
I made about $38.36/hr on this day.
I didn't really plan on getting done so early, but the fact that I did allowed me to watch the Memphis Grizzlies take on the Bulls in Chicago. It's almost playoff time baby!
End of week hours and pay 🤑
My weekly pay was about to $600 and I worked nearly 17 hours. Still under my 20-25 hour/week goal, but at least my pay jumped out of the 500s like it had been the last couple of weeks.
I made about $35.71/hr on average this past week.
Doing it again next week 👀
I am hoping that week 13 turns up the intensity in a big way. With it being the start of a new month, the weather getting warmer, and tax season almost over, many things are encouraging more orders and better tips. We shall see how it all goes.
I hope you have enjoyed this insider look at what kind of pay is possible while working for Instacart.
