I wasn't familiar with Mr. Rieker before reading this article, but it's very worthwhile and much longer. I've only picked out a few key points.
Yes, I also believe that most cryptocurrencies are more like fiat money, which isn't inherently bad. But Bitcoin, like gold, is a scarce form of currency. Central bank currencies are more like princely money, which is probably why every country wants its own central bank currency.
