I'm already experiencing this effect myself. Last year, my building materials supplier went bankrupt. Now my former employer is insolvent, and no investors are willing to rescue these multi-billion-dollar corporations. I think that companies that financed their growth through debt are now being weeded out of the market. I also think the high interest rates are intentionally set so high that these zombie companies disappear from the market and employees become redundant. These employees are needed in other, more productive companies.
