Browsing Time
Today I was browsing through people's blogs on Hive and came across a very interesting blog from . That in turn linked to
, which in turn linked to
. And so my ten minutes of scrolling turned into an hour of reading and drooling over the most tempting silver coins. Seriously, there is so much beauty to be found that I almost wanted to lick my pc screen!
And of course, as if the universe sensed my financial inadequacy, it bubbled up again, the deep desire to empty my tiny piggy bank at all these shiny silver coins. As if my bank account was plotting against my inner wannabe coin collector.
Death Sentence
I had to do something with this desire, but how? So, in desperation, I sent a DM to and asked him straight-up digitally: "Can I, as a non-silver stacker, participate in the 12 Days of Christmas?" You can imagine that I was momentarily put in digital cuffs for asking such a daring question. Luckily he gave me the green light, although I was told that somewhere in the fine print it said that offenders could expect a virtual death penalty. I decided to take that risk, so now I'm in the game, my excuse to daydream and drool over beautiful pieces of shiny silver art.
Typical Dutch
I know that as a Dutchie, I have a reputation for only looking and not buying, but apparently, I am a rebel. I want to buy, even if my wallet protests. Maybe it has to do with the fact that I always want what I can't afford. The silver grass is always greener on the other side, right?
My Secret, Not So Secret Love
So let's get these 12 Days of Christmas started and let me tell you about my secret, but not so secret love. About 3 years ago, when I started to look at silver coins for the first time in my life I found the Lunar Series from the Australian Perth Mint. No Lunar 1, no Lunar 3, but the beautiful Lunar 2. My first choice for the 12 Days of Christmas is from the year 2018.
The Year of the Dog.
And look at this dog coin! Sexy, right?
Of course, as a dog lover, I succumbed to the German Shepherd on the coin. I have one walking around in my house every day. But it goes further than that. The Chinese Zodiac told me that 2018 was the year of stability, strength, and passion. Unfortunately, that wasn't my personal experience in 2018. But hey, the image of the dog on the coin remains appropriate. Especially since it was the strength of another German Shepherd that kept me going.
Now, the general details about the coin:

Almost!
Last year, at exactly this time of the year, I seriously considered buying the entire Lunar II collection for my birthday and Christmas gift all in one. I saw an offer for 400 euros, and I almost treated myself to a silver feast. Almost! However, life threw a spanner in the works, as always. But now, with the 12 Days of Christmas approaching, that dormant longing is starting to bubble up again. If I ever will be able to take that stacking step, this coin, wait no, the entire collection will be mine!
This was my first of 12 days of Christmas!
