It's the weekend; for some, it might be the chance to have fun. Ours is either a lazy one or we could be more upbeat and go out. Fun at home for us isn't something fancy. It equates to just relaxing, doing less like watching movies, not from Netflix or any cable channels - but for free. There's nothing better than that, yeah?
Anyhow, it's numbers time! This was supposed to be yesterday (Saturday) but I had another post ready so today it is! And here's how week 7 has been in terms of staking, particularly HIVE/LEO, and saving HBD too.
Staked HIVE
- Current HP: 17,544
- Previous Wk: 17,380
- Increase⬆️: 164
- 2024 Goal: 23k HP
The added Hive Power during the week were from daily staking (14), curation rewards (23.30 HP), author rewards (93.73), and others which I could not pinpoint where it came from (32.97). Some might be from HP interest (3 HP at most).
There was no beneficiary reward during the week but it's probably because my last update was Saturday, and I'm making this on a Sunday which makes it 8 days. Hivestats analytics only shows 7-day and 30-day periods.
Anyway, about 5,456 HP more to go toward my 23k HP goal, which translates to an average of 121 HP per week or 17 a day. Still on track so it's all good.
Staked LEO
- Current LP: 27,934
- Previous Wk: 27,536
- Increase⬆️: 398
5,072 LP remaining to check off my year-end goal of 33k combined Leo Power. I believe it's pretty achievable. The added LP for the week includes those powered up on LPUD (300); daily staking (85) and delegation rewards (13.154).
The tiered delegation rewards didn't pay out for some days due to the issue with HiveSQL. Khal announced earlier today that they have built a LeoSQL solution to keep things going so we should be receiving the rewards in the next 24 hours when the distribution script updates.
Some delegations to other projects have not paid as well. I think most of the services that relied upon HiveSQL were affected. According to information on threads, Arcange was able to upload his backup files but it still needs time to sync so it may take a while. It's good to know that INLEO took a step forward with a solution for its SQL activities.
HBD Savings
- Current: 645
- Previous: 601
- Increase⬆️: 44
A good amount was added in the week. That's also because the monthly interest came in. Will continue to add at least 1 HBD a day to keep it going.
Meanwhile, have you read Edicted's post about the HBD Savings APR? While others say raising the interest rate is not good for Hive and they want to lower it, he thinks and argues otherwise and backs it up with statistics and thorough explanations.
His posts are always interesting and enlightening. There was a post of his too where I read his thoughts that Hive should be increasing the APR during the bear market.
If you are interested, check out his Selling the Bottom... article. By the way, his witness node (hextech) has signaled a 21% APR for savings.
Summing Up
The week's progress was good even when my productivity dropped due to certain circumstances IRL. There were days when I just wanted to be lazy and not create a post, but my goals kept me going. I also know that once I break my consistency, it will be a challenge to get back to it. I'm just thankful to the February Prompts for providing me with some topic ideas.
Anyway, here's a table to sum up the numbers growth from the first week. 1,143 and 1,773 were added to the HP and LP respectively, and 130 HBD has also been added to the vault.
| Week No. | Hive Power (HP) | Leo Power (LP) | HBD Savings |
|---|---|---|---|
| 31 Dec 2023 | 16,400 | 26,150 | 515 |
| Week 1 | 16,615 | 26,186 | 522 |
| Week 2 | 16,750 | 26,315 | 542 |
| Week 3 | 16,933 | 26,920 | 557 |
| Week 4 | 17,082 | 27,231 | 564 |
| Week 5 | no report made | - | - |
| Week 6 | 17,379 | 27,536 | 601 |
| Week 7 | 17,543 | 27,934 | 645 |
It's good to see the HBD Savings APR back to 20%. It was 19.01% for several days even when I claimed my savings interest. I would assume that people changed their witnesses to those who are signaling 20%. If you have not reviewed yours, you might want to do it now.😉
Thank you and cheers to the new week! Let's continue to create more blockprints onchain! Happy saving!
