When it comes to traveling, one of the main limitations we have (in addition to non-infinite money) is time. Generally, we are left with responsibilities or commitments to third parties, but if we have the possibility of having a couple of days off in a row and we organize ourselves in time, it is possible to find a great place to visit and save some money along the way if we plan everything in advance ❤️.
A la hora de viajar, uno de los principales limitantes que tenemos (además del no-dinero infinito) es el tiempo. Generalmente nos corren las responsabilidades o los compromisos con terceros, pero si tenemos la posibilidad de disponer de un par de días libres seguidos y nos organizamos con tiempo, es posible conseguir un buen lugar para visitar y de paso, ahorrar algo de dinero si planificamos todo con anticipación ❤️.
Personally, I always prefer to go to new places. I like to see what's in unknown places, so I'm always looking as far as I can go. As I explained in my previous post, my budget is generally the same (half my salary), so depending on whether I'm going far or near, I can stay more or less days. It all depends on the type of traveler you are and what your goal is: spend a lot of time traveling to rest or a little but quality time and visiting everything without stopping (I'm the second one) 😅.
Particularmente yo siempre prefiero ir a lugares nuevos. Me gusta ver qué hay en lugares desconocidos, así que siempre estoy buscando hasta donde puedo llegar. Como expliqué en mi publicación anterior, mi presupuesto generalmente es el mismo (la mitad de mi sueldo), por lo que dependiendo de si voy lejos o cerca, puedo quedarme más o menos días. Todo depende del tipo de viajero que seas y de cuál sea tu objetivo: pasar mucho tiempo de viaje para descansar o poco pero de calidad y recorriendo todo sin parar (soy la segunda) 😅.
My way of planning a trip from scratch is to first set the number of days I will be away. This mainly depends on the cheap flights or bus tickets you get to get there. By plane, what happens is that the cheap price is repeated approximately every 5 days, so I choose this number of days to be walking. By bus there is not much problem with prices because they do not usually vary, but we must bear in mind that the longer we stay, the more budget we will need, or if we have a limited number of days, the land trip will occupy an important part of the trip if we want to go to a far away place 🙃.
Mi forma de planificar un viaje desde cero es primero fijar la cantidad de días que estaré de viaje. Esto depende principalmente de los vuelos o pasajes de micro baratos que consiga para ir hasta allí. En avión lo que sucede es que el precio barato se repite cada 5 días aproximadamente así que elijo esta cantidad de días para estar paseando. En micro no hay mucho problema con los precios porque no suelen variar, pero hay que tener en cuenta que mientras más tiempo nos quedemos más presupuesto necesitaremos, o si tenemos una cantidad limitada de días, el viaje terrestre nos ocupará una parte importante del viaje si queremos ir a un lugar lejos 🙃.
Once I have defined the number of days that I will be walking, I investigate which are the points that I cannot miss: I generally like to go to the traditional and best-known places, and since I do almost everything in the low season, I do not worry about the number of people that there are going to be because surely there are few. Then, I see how much it will cost me to get to those places and based on my remaining budget I decide which ones I will go to. Unfortunately we are not millionaires and we cannot go to all the places we would like, but at least we can visit some and keep some memories 😅.
Una vez definida la cantidad de días que estaré paseando, investigo cuáles son los puntos que no me puedo perder: generalmente me gusta ir a los lugares tradicionales y más conocidos, y como casi todo lo hago en temporada baja, no me preocupo por la cantidad de gente que va a haber porque seguramente es poca. Después, me fijo cuánto me costará llegar hasta esos lugares y en base a mi presupuesto restante decido a cuáles iré. Lamentablemente no somos millonarios y no podemos ir a todos los lugares que quisieramos, pero al menos podemos visitar algunos y quedarnos con algunos recuerdos 😅.
The most important point to save money is to plan all this as far in advance as possible: the farther the trip, the cheaper it will be because we can book everything and freeze prices. In Argentina, something "good" but sad that we have is that our inflation rises considerably, so if your option is to pay something in installments, it costs relatively less each time because "inflation swallows it." It is not something very happy but it must be said 😅.
El punto más importante para ahorrar dinero es planificar todo esto con la mayor anticipación posible: mientras más lejano sea el viaje más barato saldrá porque podemos reservar todo y congelar los precios. En Argentina algo "bueno" pero triste que tenemos es que nuestra inflación asciende considerablemente, así que si tu opción es pagar algo en cuotas, relativamente cada vez cuesta menos porque "se lo traga la inflación". No es algo muy feliz pero hay que decirlo 😅.
And last but not least, it is important to have the itinerary in writing, something like what you see on purchased travel packages. When we travel independently, it is also good to have a more or less well-organized schedule to control what we are doing and, above all, the expenses. A good tool for this today is excel, but pencil and paper are also good 😂.
Y por último pero no menos importante, es importante tener el itinerario por escrito, algo así como se ve en los paquetes de viaje comprados. Cuando viajamos de manera independiente también es bueno tener un cronograma masomenos armado para ir controlando lo que vamos haciendo y sobre todo los gastos. Una buena herramienta para esto en la actualidad es el excel, pero sino también son buenos el lápiz y el papel 😂.
Throughout this last year I went with travel packages purchased with itineraries prepared for comfort and also not to travel alone, but the last trip that my friend Sofía and I took was planned completely by the two of us and everything went so well that it makes me want to plan all trips on our own. Perhaps the days may seem few to visit, but if we manage to organize ourselves we can have a nice walk as a result. And incidentally, generate content for our blogs. At least to me, this is favorable to me on all sides ❤️.
En todo este último año fui con paquetes de viaje comprados con itinerarios armados por comodidad y también para no viajar sola, pero el último viaje que hicimos mi amiga Sofía y yo fue planeado completamente por nosotras dos y todo salió tan bien que me dan ganas de planificar todos los viajes por nuestra propia cuenta. Quizás los días puedan parecer pocos para visitar, pero si logramos organizarmos podemos tener como resultado un lindo paseo. Y de paso, ir generando contenido para nuestros blogs. Por lo menos a mí, esto me resulta favorable por todos lados ❤️.
