Introduction
I came across a post where the frustrated poster lamented newbies having difficult time getting attention on LeoFinance and too many of the rewards going to the OGs.
I wonder how much luck a total newbie would have getting attention on platfrom like Medium.
The way I see it is that LeoFinance is still a very small platform. The fact that the post was very well rewarded as are most of the posts made by that author taking into consideration that he hasn't posted very long or make stellar long-form or highly engaging content, underscores the fact how easy it is at this point in time.
According to the latest Leo stats, the number of monthly active users posting from LeoFinance is about 1000.

This is still a very small platform. If a user wants to get noticed by the large stakeholders, it is still relatively easy. But you can't expect to do it in an instant. It will take some effort.
Engagement is key to success
The quickest way to gain a lot of attention is value creation through commenting. Go to the comment section of popular authors and drop thoughtful comments that add a lot of value. You will find that the comments themselves have a fair shot of attracting decent votes but that you will find more traffic directed in the way of your own blog.
It's as simple as that. But if the rewards are the only thing motivating you to do this, you will probably not be as successful as if you do it out of genuine interest in what the blog posts you reply to are about.
Conclusion
Find content you're interested in, start conversations based on genuine interest. Rinse and repeat for a few months and you can't help but succeed. If you find interesting content lacking, create it yourself. If you lack an audience, you can pay to promote your posts.
