First STEEM power down comes today
Today the SPinvest club will receive it first STEEM power down payment from the balance. The power-down is worth 6417 and we have 1462 idle meaning in a few hours there will be 7879 liquid STEEM in the account. I have a few ideas on how we can invest and generate consistent incomes from these funds but i think the consensus is that we convert all power-downs into tether until all STEEM is converted and then decide what how to reinvest should that be on are off the blockchain are both. It'll be another 12 weeks before all STEEM funds are released and we all know a lot could happen between now and then, just look at the past 4 weeks as an example.
Now before i go ahead and start converting STEEM into other cryptos, i would know to know if it would be a good idea to hold some STEEM back during the power down? Looking at today's HIVE price and going on past history of forked tokens always being valued at less than the original token, it might be a good idea to hold some STEEM. If we are planning to invest any into HIVE, we might get a better exchange rate compared to tether at the time plus STEEM "might" have a 15-20% day within the next 12 weeks also which would, of course, be an excellent opportunity to squeeze out a few extra pence.
Fun Fact- SPinvest was able to convert 500 STEEM to BTC recently when STEEM hit $0.36 pre HIVE hard fork
Should SPinvest keep some STEEM?
When i say keep STEEM, i am not suggesting to hold any that is powered up to produce earnings. I mean instead of converting 100% of power downs to Tether tokens, we convert say 90% and hold back 10% in liquid STEEM.
The power-down comes in around 8 hours so you'll need to be quick to get your feedback in. In a nutshell, what percentage f any do you think we should hold in STEEM until the power-downs are complete?
