I get a lot wrong - so when I get something right, I should celebrate!
So After AVA had a good day yesterday, shooting up 100+ percent, I had a look at the coming HIVE potential to see if there was a chance of similar and noticed that prior to the AVA pump, the shapes of their graphs were quite similar. And I mentioned it into a chat.
I sold a little AVA (not at the highs) and bought a little HIVE with it, setting sells up to just over a dollar - and crossed fingers. Before I went to bed, the 24h volume I was watching on BUSD had dropped to around 180K.
Ok - it wasn't 110% - but 80% up is still not a bad day for HIVE and while a long way away from the highs and not expected to get there again for a while, I will look for a rebuy point a little lower. The volume is at around 10 million on HIVE:BUSD at Binance, but I am predicting it will follow a similar trend to AVA, which is still 36% up, but the volume has crashed away quickly.
These kinds of pumps are fun, but also "meaningless" in terms of the long view of HIVE (or any token), as they are just the trading bots doing their rounds. However, if lucky, it is a good opportunity to take advantage of them and make a little for later, when the markets are all moving up consistently, not just pumping on individual tokens. But, these pumps are also a good indication that there is trading interest in crypto and traders are willing to double-down using alts, on the gains they have made on larger drives, like Eth - as Eth is up about 100% in the last 6 weeks. With small amounts of their gains, they are able to drive many alts up significantly, as we see here with AVA (Travala) and HIVE.
And, "coincidentally" - it is clear to see that even though often quite separate, there are still some ties between Hive and Splinterlands, as people take advantage of pumps in Hive to convert to SPS or DEC.
SPS:
DEC:
These are the changes on the BSC chain, with SPS seeing a 1000% increase in trading volume in the last few hours, at the same time HIVE was pumping. I don't mind this, as I have a bit of SPS and I bought DEC the other day at 1000:53 cents, but that doesn't matter much, as I will use it to buy card packs later, so in-game it is worth 1000:1 dollar.
SPS, I am hoping want fall back too much from here and with the release of 3M Rift Watcher packs priced at $5 each worth of SPS coming, this gives it a good base to spring from. And, even with this little bump, an additional 33 Validator Node Licenses went in the last couple hours - again, because they are priced in SPS. A decent pump and those who bought earlier will take advantage of the relative discount.
So, not a bad morning all up, considering that now I have to fire up my work laptop after a month of vacation and sort through the 12 billion emails I know are waiting and my first session for the Autumn. Technically, I guess it isn't Autumn yet, but since I am working - it may as well be. If HIVE pumped 15x instead, perhaps I would have taken the day off. For now, I just get to watch it from the corner of my eye, slide back to my rebuy point.
