Hi friends, it's a pleasure to participate in this new #weekend-engagement edition organised by .
As a scientist I had always put all tarot readers and fortune tellers in general in the reviled group of scammers and seducers of the word to get the money of their victims by asking the exact questions that allow them to get the right information to tell us great nebulae of information, but without specifying anything.
One day I changed my mind
I remember a Sunday in May 2003, at that time I was finishing my degree in chemical sciences and as on other occasions my flatmate, his girlfriend and I decided to travel from Oviedo to a small town called Pola de Siero, which is about 20 minutes away from Oviedo by bus after lunch with the aim of spending an afternoon drinking beer and cider like so many other university students.
The strange situation I'm going to tell you about happened on the bus when a homeless-looking man sat in the seats next to the ones my friends and I were sitting in.
First Guessing: A moment of laughter from university students
Five minutes after leaving Oviedo, this man addressed my friend Javier calling him by name, telling him that life was wonderful, but that it was a pity that the relationship he had with Patricia was about to end. Needless to say, we did not know him and were not aware that we had said our names beforehand for him to know them.
Getting a second fact right made us tense
Puzzled by the situation, Javier told him why the relationship with his girlfriend would have to break up. The "homeless" told him that he saw in the future that a neighbour would come between them. I, who was one seat ahead of them, couldn't believe it because in those weeks the neighbour from the block of buildings opposite was coming to see us in our flat.
At that moment, and to test the obscure skills of the "homeless" I asked him if he knew the name of this supposed neighbour. At that he told us that he knew her name was Eva. When I heard that name and it coincided with the name of our neighbour, a shiver ran through my body that I had never felt before.
The third and fourth divinations were no coincidence
After a few minutes of silence, and only having in mind that the bus should arrive at our destination as soon as possible to lose sight of this "homeless", the last two pieces of information that she gave us and that ruined our drunken Sunday were the following:
The third divinatory art was said looking at Javi with words similar to these and which I have very much engraved in my memory
"You are going to be an uncle in a few months when the first child of your older brother, Jose, is born".
Javi was an uncle 8 months later, and the father was his brother Jose.
The last divinatory sentence was said to me, staring me in the eyes, in such a way that I still remember his sombre countenance in detail.
"You will finish your degree in a year and a half, you will study for a doctorate and you will start working in the specialisation before finishing your doctorate in a company that has been created this month".
In this he was absolutely right, since the company that hired me when I was finishing my doctorate was set up in May 2003.
Conclusion
Even so, I believe that the vast majority of those who call themselves psychics or Tarot fortune tellers are simply swindlers who are after the money of the gullible. However, this character we met on the bus and who left us speechless, I assure you that he had some kind of gift. It must be made clear that at no time did he offer us any kind of divinatory service nor did he ask us for money in exchange, and although he seemed eccentric, he did not threaten us or say any violent words.
Have a nice weekend.
