Hi friends, it's a pleasure to participate in this new #weekend-engagement edition organised by .
As every weekend provides us with a series of very interesting topics that make us reflect and in my case allows me to have fun.
"The men - Your tool
No chaps, not your dick...Show us the most handy, valued or used tool in your workshop. I don't mean mobile phones here, I mean tools that you use to make and fix stuff. Your own photos are essential for this post and you must write at least 300 words.
In my house I have a lot of gardening tools, scythes, screwdrivers, drills, etc.
However, one of the most useful tools, and I think the most useful, is my hand saw. I said hand saw and not chainsaw, because I have a lot of respect for chainsaws after a small accident I had several years ago with one of them that almost cost me a leg.
After having read the post about the topics to be discussed, I am going to document what I have been doing this Saturday morning with my handsaw.
This morning, after having gone to do the weekly shopping with my mother, I went for a walk around town and saw a bunch of pallets lying next to the garbage containers in town and thought I would give them a second use in the wood stove instead of having them taken to a landfill.
To do this, I loaded my hand saw and some gloves in the trunk of my car and went to the place where the pallets were.
Afterwards, I loaded the loose pallet boards and smaller pallets that didn't need to be cut into the trunk.
However, many of them were larger than the dimensions of the trunk door and here my handsaw helped me to get the pallet dimensions right.
Once the pallets were cut up, I made a couple of trips and took all this wood to my mother's house.
Aware that I had to clean the car, I remembered that last week, when I was walking near the mountain near the house, there was a large branch of a pine tree lying on the side of the road.
So I loaded my handsaw and went to the place and cut the branch into 5 pieces to take it home.
Finally, after lunch with my mother, I used my handsaw again to cut up parts of the pallet boards so I would have wood to burn in the wood stove tonight and so my mother could simmer one of her excellent recipes.
Now it's time to rest all afternoon after a morning of work with my hand saw.
Best regards.
