Hi,
After a few weeks of absence I'm back to participate in the #weekend-engagement that proposes every weekend.

Among the different topics that he proposes, I am going to participate with the following topic:
One of the best
What is one of the best things that happened on your trip to another county. This has to be a trip you have personally taken and your post must use photos you took yourself on that trip. Your post must be at least 300 words.
The best thing that ever happened to me on a trip: A new friendship and hiver
Without a doubt, the best thing that has happened to me on a trip outside my country was to befriend Tiago Branco (), to explain to him what hive is and that he managed to get a Hive account, although due to lack of time he has not been active on the blockchain. Here is the whole story and how this friendship came about.
One year ago
A year ago for work reasons I went to a laboratory in Lisbon, my first visit to this Portuguese city, which has a spectacular charm and even more so when you visit it in the middle of summer.
The training course I had to give was from Wednesday to Friday in the morning and afternoon, but helped by the fact that in summer the days are longer, I was able to take advantage of each of the afternoons to do a bit of sightseeing.
First day after the training course
The first day in Lisbon, after the training course, I went to the Belém neighbourhood, where I had booked the hotel, and I took advantage of the afternoon to walk around the Belém neighbourhood, in the area closest to the river, where one of the most iconic monuments of Portugal is the Belém Tower.
Apart from this spectacular tower, which was once a lighthouse, later a prison and also a tax collection centre, I spent some very entertaining hours in the gardens of the Belém Tower and contemplating the monument to the overseas combatants.
After this visit, I decided to take a stroll along the promenade that runs along the banks of the Tagus River until I reached the monument of the discoveries, which is spectacularly beautiful with the 25th April bridge in the background.
After that, and because I had urgent work to do from the hotel, I went to the hotel and I seem to remember that I had dinner at the hotel.
Second day of the course and explaining Hive
During the second day of the training course in the lab, because we had an extremely long sequence of analyses that the team was running, we had 2 hours in the lab in which the students and I talked a bit about everything from our lives.
At that point, I told them that I had spent the previous afternoon walking around the Belém neighbourhood by the river, visiting the Belém tower and the monument of the discoveries, and that I had found it a fascinating place that I had taken many photos of with the intention of publishing them on my Hive blog.It was at that moment when Tiago asked me about the blog and I explained to him what Hive was, I showed him how it was divided into several communities, depending on the subject, that you can publish your own posts, you can vote for the posts of others, I explained the two currencies HBD and HIVE, the importance of having HIVE staked to gain power in the blockchain, etc.
And as a result of that conversation, Tiago and I forged a relationship beyond that of student and teacher, and began a foundation of friendship by finding points of interest in common such as photography and knowing the history of the places we each visit, which is why Tiago offered to be my tour guide on Saturday, the day after the end of the training course.
Another visit to Belém
On the second day of the course, after finishing it, I went back to the Belém district, but this time I visited the area where the Jerónimos monastery is located, which is spectacularly beautiful.
I remember walking through the Alfonso de Albuquerque garden.
And I visited the famous pastry shop where the first cream cakes, known as "Pasteles de Belém", were made for the first time.
And I wandered around the streets surrounding the Belém Palace until a colleague arrived for a delicious codfish dinner in one of the restaurants in the area.
City visit with my new friend and hiver
On Friday, after the course, due to the fact that I was not feeling very well, I did not visit the city, especially when I had already agreed with Tiago to visit Lisbon together on Saturday morning.
On Saturday, picked me up at my hotel and from there we went to the waterfront, where we would start a long tour of the city with the intention of visiting the main viewpoints of the city to contemplate the grandeur and beauty of Lisbon.
Strolling along the banks of the river, we arrived at the quay of the columns, which is a place of great historical relevance, since from this point several of the expeditions related to the discoveries that Portuguese sailors led in ancient times set sail.
Close to this place, you will find the Commerce Square, one of the most important squares in Lisbon, which has a multitude of commercial establishments and cafes in its surroundings, a triumphal arch and an equestrian statue of Joseph I.
We then continue our tour of the city centre stopping at the house of the writer Jose de Saramago, which is known as the house of the peaks.
Then we start our route to the different viewpoints of the city without forgetting to pass by the Lisbon Cathedral.
Focusing on the route to the viewpoints, I want to tell you that Tiago is in excellent physical condition and as you can see my physical condition is overweight, so we visited several viewpoints to contemplate the city.
Of the 6 viewpoints that we visited, the three that I liked the most were the following.
Viewpoint Portas del Sol
From this viewpoint you can see the river Tagus and the church of San Vicente de Fora.
In addition, there are several cafés with terraces and lounge bars. In fact it was in one of the restaurants near this viewpoint that Tiago and I had lunch that beautiful Saturday.
Viewpoint de Gracia
Next to the convent of Nuestra Señora de Gracia, very close to the Castle of San Jorge. From here we can admire the views of the Castle of San Jorge, the Elevador de Santa Justa or the Convent of Carmo, among others.
As you will notice in some of these photographs, the photographer that I am, I was photographed by Tiago taking the pictures, which he gave me at the end of the city tour, as he was struck by the large number of photos I was taking of each place we visited.
Monte Agudo Viewpoint.
This is one of the least visited viewpoints and thanks to Tiago I was able to discover it, as it does not appear in most tourist guides. From this viewpoint you have fabulous views of the north of the city and the entire western area.I remember that after the route of the viewpoints and more than 10 kilometres walked that day, we returned to the place where Tiago had parked the car and as you can see, my face was pure tiredness but comforted by the visit to the city of this new friend.
Best regards.
