Food & Family [ENG]
Yesterday was Sunday. Sunday is usually that day where the routine changes completely, or at least we do some different things that we don't usually do the rest of the week, like today and Monday.
We try to make it a day in which we can do things that we feel like doing, that we like the most, that relax us or that encourage us. Or a little of all that, or sometimes, nothing.
Yesterday was a rainy day. The rain can make our plans change, that we don't feel like going out so much, for a walk, a run or a drink. It doesn't usually rain much here, and it hadn't been on the weekend for a long time, so maybe it's the right day to be home.
And at home we can lie on the sofa, watch a series or read a book... but, we will have to eat too. And why not do it in good company? Who do we call?
Family or friends will undoubtedly be at the top of the list. Perhaps the friends already have their plans made, but there will always be someone... and some family member who is not doing anything, nothing more than seeing it rain and being at home, decides to come.
And we get going, there isn't much time either. So we opted for something simple but tasty, something that we know everyone likes: meatballs! But with lots of vegetables too. So we have to cut leeks, green peppers, carrots, and put some sweet potatoes in the oven. With sea salt, spices and of course, extra virgin olive oil.
We are making the small balls with the meat that we already had in anticipation of such a day. While we put some aperitif. And one day why not, a good red wine, a "Ribera del Duero" a protected Designation of Origin (PDO). A toast, the glasses sound... chin chin.
A meal without much pretense, without wanting to show off or complicate a day like this. A pleasant meal to enjoy commenting on things about life, about the last week, about current affairs, some funny anecdote too... We laugh, thinking about dessert.
Always something sweet, it makes our day happy. We like ice cream, even if it's not summer. Bourbon vanilla ice cream with peanut butter and hazelnuts, what do you think? (No time for own photos that time). And a bit of dark chocolate to finish it off, with something hot afterwards, an exceptionally loose black tea.
Already with the hot cup on the sofa, continue commenting on more topics, go back to the previous ones, say something about what you see on television without paying too much attention. Talk about the weather, pending things, how time passes, and the afternoon progresses.
They have to go and they have to pick up, which without realizing the little light of day quickly disappears. Farewells, kisses and hugs. And good wishes.
Wishes that imply that there are and we want more days like this, in which the little things, those that do not seem to matter, are once again the protagonists. Those things that make us feel good, a good family meal. A precious moment to treasure, a beautiful gift of life to value.

Comida & Familia[ESP]
Ayer fue domingo. El domingo es normalmente ese día donde la rutina cambia por completo, o al menos hacemos algunas cosas diferentes que no solemos hacer el resto de la semana, como hoy ya lunes.
Intentamos que sea un día en el que poder hacer cosas que nos apetecen, que nos gustan más, que nos relajen o que nos animen. O un poco de todo eso, o a veces, nada.
Ayer fue un día lluvioso. La lluvia puede hacer que cambien nuestros planes, que no tengamos tantas ganas de salir, a pasear, a correr o a tomar algo. Aquí no suele llover mucho, y hacía mucho que no coincidía en el fin de semana, así que quizás sea el día indicado de estar en casa.
Y en casa podemos tumbarnos en el sofá, ver una serie o leer un libro... pero, tendremos que comer también. ¿Y por qué no hacerlo en buena compañía? ¿A quién llamamos?
Familia o amigos serán sin duda los primeros de la lista. Quizás los amigos ya tengan sus planes hecho, pero siempre habra alguien... y algún familiar que no está haciendo nada, nada más que ver llover y estar en casa, decide venir.
Y nos ponemos en marcha, tampoco hay mucho tiempo. Así que optamos por algo sencillo pero sabroso, algo que sabemos que gusta a todos: ¡albóndigas! Pero con mucha verdura también. Así que hay que partir puerros, pimientos verdes, zanahorias, y poner unos boniatos al horno. Con sal marina, especias y por supuesto, aceite de oliva virgen extra.
Vamos haciendo las pequeñas bolas con la carne que teníamos ya en previsión de un día así. Mientras ponemos algo de aperitivo. Y un día porqué no, un buen vino tinto, denominación de origen "Ribera del Duero". Un brindis, las copas suenan... chin chin.
Una comida sin mayor pretensión, sin querer presumir ni complicarnos un día así. Una comida agradable de la que disfrutar comentando cosas sobre la vida, sobre la última semana, sobre la actualidad, alguna divertida anécdota también... Nos reímos, pensando en el postre.
Siempre algo dulce, nos alegra la jornada. A nosotros nos gusta el helado, aunque no sea verano. Helado de vainilla bourbon con crema de cacahuete y avellanas, ¿qué os parece? (No dio tiempo a fotos propias esta vez). Y un poco de chocolate negro para poner el punto final, con algo después caliente, un te negro a granel excepcional.
Ya con la taza caliente en el sofá, seguir comentando más temas, volver a los de antes, decir algo de lo que se ve en televisión sin prestar demasiada atención. Hablar del tiempo, de las cosas pendientes, de cómo pasa el tiempo, y la tarde avanza.
Se tienen que ir y hay que recoger, que sin darnos cuenta la poca luz del día desaparece rápidamente. Despedidas, besos y abrazos. Y buenos deseos.
Deseos que implican que haya y queramos más días así, en los que las pequeñas cosas, esas que parece que no importan, vuelven a ser protagonistas. Esas cosas que son las que nos hacen sentir bien, una buena comida en familia. Un momento preciado que atesorar, un regalo bonito de la vida que valorar.
