Hey hive team, I hope y'all are looking forward to a great hump day! That's right, it's the middle of the week and we're on the downhill run to the weekend; If that doesn't get the juices flowing I don't know what will! I'll be honest with you though, my Wednesday is already done and dusted, so I'm a little closer to the weekend than you guys who aren't in Australia.
In light of some recent bad news Faith and I have received we have been highly stressed and not feeling the best. I wrote a post about it earlier, here, in which I mentioned how we deal with adversity by detaching and that's my plan for the weekend for Faith...That's right, it's date night!
Faith and I don't do the designated date night thing to be quite honest, we prefer a more free-flowing, spontaneous existence however she's been feeling very low this past week and I'm planning a night out for us. It's time for her to put on a party dress and high heels for a night out with the G-dog!
We'll go for Mexican food as we both love it and haven't been for a while; Thanks pandemic. There's a few entertainment options for later, mostly low-key because of pandemic restrictions still in force; This suits us fine as we more into smaller places where we can sit in a corner together, enjoy a drink and chill to some live music.
It's about togetherness, forgetting the troubles we face for a time and connecting man to woman. You know?
We've been together for thirty three years now but we still value times like these and she still turns my head when she walks past. This will be the case this weekend because I think she'll wear a dress she bought especially for when we went out for dinner on my fiftieth in March...Which didn't happen of course; Thanks pandemic. You won't get to see it...But I will, and the prospect of that low cut, short hemmed dress makes me happy. (It's ok, we're both adults you know...)
There's many elements that form the foundation our relationship stands upon, not least of which is the ability to in love over and over again. Maybe you won't understand that comment, but for us it's a thing. We have always remained so connected, and yet have the ability to see the other with fresh eyes and emotions. Nights like I'm planning on the weekend is when that happens and I'll be honest, we thrive on it.
I've got a couple days to get organised, book a restaurant and work out what bar we'll hit afterwards. I'm looking forward to it and the anticipation of the weekend will get me through the next two days.
Are you planning much for the weekend? Going out like us, staying home, working? What's up y'all, share it here and let's chat about it...Who knows, it might help the next few days pass faster for all of us!
