Breakfast? Hmmm... You already know that breakfast is one of the most important meals you can have any day and this has scientific backing so, if you've been skipping it, you are asking for trouble.
Ohh... Look who is yapping about breakfast
Yeah. You can be surprised, but I'm not surprised at all. I woke up this morning to meet well prepared Moi Moi. That was a leftover from what we had yesterday and it tastes even better this morning. Like, I couldn't even wait for pap to be prepared. I just did the needful and started to dig into my share of the Moi Moi.
To be honest, I woke up with a wild appetite this morning. Maybe it's because I did some work in the early hours of the day. I was busy with some stuff which I started immediately after morning devotion. It kept me glued to the screen of my gadget till 3 hours later. That's 9:15 a.m timestamped.
By the time I stood up from my chair, hunger came knocking on my door. Lucky me, I'm at home with my family and my family is just like every other Nigeria family. We had leftovers from what was prepared last night.
Does it sound awkward?
Nope. Not to me and not to my countrymen.
I know of some countries where most of whatever they cook are meant to be finished on the spot. It's like a generalized cultural thingy due to the type of food they cook.
In Nigeria, you can't cook EGWUSI soup and finish on the spot. Arghh! Even the ancestors will be offence. It's an unquoted rule and it's adopted across many homes. Most of whatever is cooked usually lasts for more than one meal. That's why you shouldn't be surprised to hear that whatever was cooked for breakfast was later had for lunch or dinner.
Thank goodness, the availability of deep freezers across Nigerian homes makes the whole thing easier.
When hunger knocked on my door this morning, my reaction was GOLDEN. I calmly opened our refrigerator and picked enough Moi moi which I warmed for 5 minutes or so, before descending on it like a hungry lion. And that's it. Breakfast is done and dusted!
For the record, not all food are meant to last for more than one meal.
Not even in Nigeria. Stuff like indomie (noodles) is a no-no. If you prepared more than the quantity you can finish on the spot, the best thing to do is to force yourself and FINISH it.
Of course, you also have to deal with the repercussion in whatever form it chooses to come. Haha
Enjoy the weekend ✌️
Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop Or Comma
