Finally Friday has arrived which, like every week, brings dear 's suggestions to write about something always different and original; obviously thanks for your commitment you are a person to be admired for this and for the perseverance and also for many other qualities that you have and that are not taken for granted in a person.
Come to us, this week I decided to have a nice chat with Leonardo Da Vinci!
Guess you understood that from the title... some great lines from Litfiba's song "Gioconda".
Why Leo? First because he is a genius and then because he is Tuscan and I adore Vinci; have you never been there? I recommend you go there when they organize the "Unicorn Party", it's great!
Well so we said about "Leo", I have always admired brilliant people and it is undeniable that here I am talking about probably the greatest genius that history has ever had.
A "forward" character, projected into the future, with ideas that were absurd in his time but which, in the future, have all become reality.
However, the dowry that I love most about Leonardo is his versatility, he ranged from art to invention, from writing to painting, from the sea to the land; he was a person who loved to deal with a thousand topics, who loved to get informed, study and above all he was madly in love with knowledge in all its facets.
In this side of the character he reminds me of me, obviously with due distinctions, he was a phenomenal genius, I was just a humble fool; but like him I love to read and study and range over as many topics as possible.
It makes us think that while the men of his time were thinking about how to combine lunch with dinner and how to mate with each other, Leonardo was already thinking, for example, of flying or giving life to the "Mona Lisa".
If you were here with me today I'd offer him a nice cup of cappuccino and after showing him my Lego collection...
Yes, because I'm sure that Leonardo, if he had had them as a child, would have been a fan of Lego!
I would say to him, you see dear friend, surely in our modern times You could have made a thousand discoveries and invent a thousand things that we still dream of; however, if I have to tell you about the civilization that populates our poor Earth in the 2000s, I'll tell you, the world hasn't changed much since your times; probably indeed it has worsened in some respects, yes now we can prevent and even cure many diseases; we can, as You dreamed, fly; however, there are still wars and in some areas of the world hunger and famine and many diseases; man in your time perhaps, at least, was more genuine, but today many have lost even those traits given by spontaneity and above all simplicity.
In short, dear "Leo", it was better when it was worse!
I'm sure poor Leonardo would look at me bewildered while sipping his cappuccino and then answer me "Ovvia Messere, non indugiar e raccontami bene di codesto Lego, maremma maiala!"; I like to imagine him speaking in Tuscan, I put the translation for English friends but obviously it doesn't render in the same way: ""Obviously sir, don't delay and tell me well about this Lego, you maremma pig!".
and with this pearl of wisdom, all of Tuscany, given to us by the good Maestro Leonardo Da Vinci, I think I can conclude; Thank you for coming this far.
Of course, feel free to leave your thoughts or comments below.
Hug you!
