So this is how it all started....
WHEN CURIOSITY STRUCK
We basked in the serenity of the surroundings, spending a few hours enjoying relaxing family time. I told my husband that if we could sail near the rift, I could have clean water.
He asked what I would do with it. I simply told him I needed it but couldn’t tell him what I would make out of it.
The simple reason is that I am NOT so sure of what I will be doing as well. My brain processed it in a way that there’s no way that video could be real and that perhaps it’s a hack. Anyhow, I managed to gather at least 1.6 litres of seawater for the sake of my curiosity.
You know, somehow my scientifically limited brain understood. But still out of curiosity, I pursued and continued the process.
“Oh, wait, Mama, I’m actually making salt!”
You would expect her to be laughing, thinking I was being silly, and I jokingly told her, “Oh well, I just got curious about making salt naturally and organically.” So we kind of talked about the increase in salt price in the market, and it would help a bit if we could make our own. Imagine a cost-cutting of the fundamental food ingredients across the world.
And I am talking about an ORGANIC, NATURAL way, like no machinery!
You can’t imagine the AHA moment I got and the excitement I felt when finally the time I was waiting for...
“Would I see those crystalline-like salts for real out of seawater?
Lo and behold...
SALT MAKING IS TEACHING ME PATIENCE.
Around 6:30 in the early morning, we went back to Il Soleil to gather 12 litres of seawater. We went to the other side because it’s cleaner; besides, there's nobody swimming just yet. This time we took the car because it’s more convenient to drive back. The water we gathered was nearly at the shoreline, on the rocky side, due to the high tide. We have to go to the nearby market for fresh vegetables and come back home around 10:45 am. Exactly at 11 a.m. I started the salt making.
Would you believe that at nearly 2:30 pm, the salt finally came to life! Seeing the beauty of its natural and organic ocean components, I am still so mesmerised by how it turned out to be salt.
This is a mere simple science for many, but for me?*
This is gold...this is treasure...
This is healing...this is PATIENCE.
Making salt from fresh seawater is teaching me that there’s beauty in the waiting. There’s beauty in the knowing of seeing things in a broader perspective. That I am not waiting in vain because surely I know deep within I could see the salt, or the result of my persistence, patience and inner strength.
What’s the rationale?
When curiosity strikes, I know from my gut feeling that I have to do something. This is my way of healing. This is honouring my guide within me. My spiritual journey has helped me process how my inner strength knows that I am so blessed beyond measure.
Imagine God/the universe has given us everything, nature for FREE, and yet we are still paying for it? If only we spent time being more curious and questioning things that are NOT made naturally or organically, instead of simply buying them from the shops, maybe our world could be less harmful and less toxic.
"
The thought that the universe/God put me in Seychelles; at least the seawater is crystal clear and clean here – there’s no harm! Then you will expect that starting today, I will not buy any salt from the shops if I can make it myself.
My mother mentioned how incredible it was to see that salt out of seawater and asked how I did it when I had shown her the right way during our video call. As we ended our conversation, her “organic salt process journey” will also be one of her main goals.
And oh, I also started my skincare routine where aloe vera is my main ingredient...
