I'm ending my Sunday, writing this post, whilst listening and singing along to Alanis Morissette, with my daughters. The song was their request. I introduced them to Alanis a few weeks back and all three of them like her and it was my youngest that requested that I put ironic on.
Whilst I was looking for the song, I started to sing it and was surprised that they knew, just as many of the words, as I did.
I have been trying to downsize (once again), these last few days and today there was a pop up market, which is the perfect place to get rid of things you don't need, as everyone is welcome to come and sell or trade their food or items.
I made some chocolate energy balls, infused with Reishi to sell. As well as some clothes to trade or sell. If I am gong to make food to sell, I want it to be nourishing. Fast food, does not have to be unhealthy.
This is my first time to make them with Reishi and I don't know why it took me so long to be honest. They turned out really well and everyone who bought one, said how much they enjoyed them. I must say I enjoyed the one I ate as well.
I had a wonderful spot, under a beautiful Mulberry tree, which was also known as the wishing tree. It had lots of little ribbons tied onto it's branches, to represent the wishes that people had made. It was also a great place for me to hang the clothes that I was selling. It's there in right of the picture above.
The afternoon started out pretty chilled, with a small stream of people dropping by. There was also a few circus performances happening throughout the day. I was too busy enjoying them to take any pictures. I always remember after, which is too late. But I have it captured in my mind.
Some of the performances took place on the stage you can see in this picture above. But like I said, I was too busy watching them to actually capture anyone up there. In between shows, the kids would all climb up and hang out there. It's a great viewing point for any child, getting to look down on all the adults.
I spend most of my time sitting under the wishing tree, letting people come to me. I have not been in a very sociable mood of late, but didn't want to miss the event and the opportunity to make some money. Plus, my girls got to hang out with their friends and enjoy the performances.
I saw them all from behind as the market was behind the stage. But I really enjoyed watching everyone react to what they were seeing. No photos unfortunately of any of that, so you just have to trust me, when I say everyone definitely enjoyed themselves.
I am feeling quite grateful for where I live and also that I got to enjoy my day, under the protection of that beautiful tree. As it began to get dark, I started to pack up, when a friend of mine came over to me and as she went to hand me something, I kid you not, a chicken dropped down from the tree and landed on my hand before dropping to the ground and walking off.
Quite a few people turned around, as we both my friend and I let out a little screech, from the shock of what had just happened. There were chickens wandering around, but I had only seen them on the ground. Chicken's are so fearless, makes you wonder, why people use the word chicken to describe someone who is fearful.
I am sure it's a good omen, having a chicken fall from a tree onto you. Anyhow, I am grateful and tired after my very eventful day.
