In line with yesterday’s post, for another print, I thought of the idea of birds around a forest. So the first bird I painted was a cattle egret! I did a post about some pictures I was able to take of the birds some time ago ( link to the post at the bottom of this post). I used a few of the pictures as a reference, and I really love the outcome.
The reference for the bird in yellow, it was created using ink and watercolor :

First, I started with a sketch of my bird
Then I got painting. I made use of the Windsor and Newton watercolor set. Weeks back, I did some practice sketches and studies of the bird. It honestly made painting the bird easier and I made less mistakes because I knew the exact colors I needed to mix, to get a certain color.
