Hope you all are doing well in this pandemic situation.
Staying at home, I sometimes try to do something interesting and fun.
So, this time I tried to cook a traditional food called "Potato Breath" which is very much popular in the Indian subcontinent.
Now I am sharing with you how I cooked it.
Potato Breath actually means potatoes boiled and seasoned.
Ingredients I used:
Potato half a kg,
onion paste (3-4 onion paste),
Ginger paste One teaspoon,
Garlic paste One teaspoon,
cumin powder or cumin paste,
Five forks 1.5 teaspoons whole green chillies,
5-6 turmeric and powdered chilli,
oil and salt,
2 teaspoons of spices and 2 teaspoons of sugar.
Potato breath preparation method
First I boiled the potatoes a little bit, but not too much because I had to cook it in a few steps.
Then I peeled the boiled potatoes, added salt, turmeric and chilli powder to taste.
After 10 to 15 minutes, I fried the potatoes a little bit in oil in a pan.
Then in another clean pan with the same amount of oil, I fried the onions for a while and add cumin paste, garlic paste, ginger paste, hot spices, turmeric powder, chilli powder and salt to taste one by one.
Remember that the better you cook, the better the potato breath will taste.
When it is cooked, I poured the fried potatoes in it and keep stirring for a while.
After cooking for a while, I added adequate amount of water.
When the water is a little less, I spread whole green chillies in it. When the water was reduced and a little oil was seen, I took it down.
I served it in a bowl. Everyone liked it and it was so much delicious. It can also be eaten as a vegetable with rice.
