Last night as I arrived home, from what had already been a pretty eventful day. I was pleasantly surprised to find my friends/family/neighbors outside enjoying their holiday weekend. I can't remember the last time I had a day like this, but I'm glad I did.
The weather was perfect. I unexpectedly found myself having the day off. Not knowing that I had it off, I had already purposes myself to be productive. I worshipped. Had a good breakfast. I wrote an entry into the #freewrite challenge hosted by .
Sundays 5 minute freewrite, and a prayer request

I'd spent a good portion of the day in Bristol. Just walking around exploring and taking pictures. I stopped to have a nice meal at one of the local restaurants.
A nice place, good food, and a tasty beer

So I arrived home fully expecting to call it day. I wasn't really planning on doing much more. Yet I couldn't end the day without at least saying hi to my friends. So I unloaded my stuff, and walked next door.
Immediately upon my arrival, I was greeted with a warm welcome, a hug, a couple handshakes, and a nice cold #beer.
Soon we were sitting on the porch in the back yard. The temperature had dropped slightly, yet it was still comfortable. I was offered some food. Considering the meal I had just had an hour ago. I contemplated for a moment, then gladly accepted.
They had eaten a while before I arrived, so the pot was thrown back onto the fire.
Soon it was streaming hot, and ready for my consumption.
I then served myself a plate.
My friends are wonderful cooks. I'm not really accustomed to eating lobster. Yet I think I handled the challenge nicely. Trying my best to hide my inexperience.
It was a great end to a great day. We shared stories, drank a few beers, and I did my best to help finish off the remaining shrimp and lobster. At their request of course 😊. I would've never imagined the I would've had such a day. It was a sweet reminder of what I'd been missing. I'm so appreciative of this little reminder, that I truly am blessed.
Thank you for sharing with me. I hope you too are reminded of the blessings in your life.
God bless.
