Such a cool Saturday morning with a clear sky to spy the clouds and how nature is treating the whole surroundings. This morning has few people doing the ups and downs since most of them do like to have an indoor something. Unlike any other Saturday mornings around are always packed with various fitness groups having stretches in a fun way. The sound of music just make the various exercises a hurt free one. Since we are not in normal times now things have changed for everyone to be careful.
As the drill is being done each day, I just tell you some major happenings in Ghana as some parts of its regions are suffering the partial lockdown. And today on day 19, the very first story will be the vice president of the country, visiting the mobile mobility team to encourage them on how great mother Ghana was for all their sacrifices. He asked them never to give up but fight ahead so that when we have finally said bye bye to covid-19, we can all smile that we had a part to play in the history of the nation.
There was also this news about water tankers doing just to the directives of the President to supply places with no taps with water as they are not supposed to be moving around anyhow. After the the directives was announced weeks ago, many had doubts on how these water can be shared without it affecting the social distance protocol.
In fact I was very happy on how the exercise was done since, they never called the entire community into an opened place to queue up for the water but they went door to door calling on everyone to come for water. When this house is done they then move on to the other to continue.
Where was also this funny video around that had a girl of 17 years in one of these lockdown areas, who was met by a team of security service personnel and was asked where she was going at this time of the night (around the early hours of 21:00 gmt +000) and she was like she was going to her boyfriend .
The team was curious and asked if she never had a family, but to their shock she told them that they are a family of seven and they all sleep in just a small room and so she was moving to her boyfriend’s place to spend the night.
After I finished watching this video, I was just in a state of both laughter and sadness, according to the constitution of Ghana, until one is 18 years, he or she is considered as a child and so if one happens to perform any sexual action on them it is considered as defilement. And so seeing the girl in that position told me a lot and I wasn’t surprised when she said they were crowded in her house and she thought it wise of relocating. In as much as most of you will side with her due to personal distancing, what even tells she is safe anyway at his boyfriend’s place.
Well that’s a question to answer some other day. But until then just keep staying safe.
