'You can't make everbody happy. You are not pizza.
I saw this quote at my work somewhere a while back and it was written on a writeboard somewhere. Most of the time when someone writes these types of 'motivational quotes' somewhere for everyone to see, I roll with my eyes, look down and barf in a bag because of it all being so obvious.
With this one the same. Maybe I even wiped it because I all find it so much nonsense. And all of a sudden this week it is applying to all kinds of things!

I was eating at this Italian place here in Aruba. The menu was good and the quality of the ingredients was as you would expect it. The crowd they want to attract are tourists and locals with pastas, pizzas and some fine dining skills like octopus cerviche.
But another thing which they had was some fried seafood bites. Which felt more like a basket of onion rings from the local pub. You see what I mean? You should not have these fancy dishes as well as fry fest on the menu. People will never know what to expect when they order something if the fancy side or the fry side shows up.
Choose your battles, you can not make everybody happy because you are not pizza.
Same here on the Hive ecosystem where I saw some downvote drama picking up. I find these things tend to be around more when the prices of things are higher and people feel like the stakes are higher. While when the same post a year ago made 10x less and got a downvote, it didn't hurt so much for some reason.
Also with this new influx of users who are drawn to the prices also you see they are struggling on what kind of niche they should operate. One that isn't them but gives more rewards, or one that is more fun but gives less rewards. You can see the internal battle.
For me this was chosen a long time ago. I write what pops into mind and sometimes this will 'sell' and sometimes it won't. And I accept that.
I could also spend more time in my formatting and the posts would look a like better visally but I really don’t like doing this. This will totally mean less rewards, but they also mean less stress to me.
As said: You can't make em all happy.
I am my own plain pizza.
