Hi Everyone!, today I will share with you the cooking activity of Belangong Kuah. This Belangong sauce has contents such as beef, goat and others. Kuah Belangong is a typical dish of Aceh Province, one of the provinces in western Indonesia.
This Belangong sauce is usually cooked when there will be big events such as celebrations for Islamic days. And today I along with the villagers of my village cooked this Belangong Kuah to celebrate the birthday of the great prophet, Prophet Muhammad.
Today's Belangong Kuah cooking activity starts at 14:00 in the afternoon. Start by slaughtering a cow that has been purchased and has passed a veterinary health check by a veterinarian. Slaughtering cows in Acehnese culture is carried out in a crowd and everyone present at the slaughtering brings a knife each, then each person will be given a lump of beef that has been slaughtered and then chopped into small pieces of beef.
The process of slaughtering this cow takes approximately 3 hours, from the beginning it is slaughtered until it is finished chopping, the beef that is slaughtered will then be washed clean and then seasoned with Acehnese spices, which have been a recipe handed down from the ancestors of the Acehnese people. .
The spices for cooking Belangong Kuah are prepared by the women in the village community kitchen, the women sit in a row and then start cutting the brooms one by one the ingredients needed to cook Belangong Kuah, this is prepared by the women to make it easier for the men in cooking Belangong gravy.
After everything was prepared, then the men put all the spices that had been prepared with beef in large cauldrons and then put a few liters of drinking water and cooked until cooked.
