A big greeting, with a virtual hug included, to this great community that supports quality writing and to those who are not yet so visible within the great hive.

Since a long time ago and desperately for more than a century, absolutely everybody tried to get on that bus called success. Many, or to be more precise, some succeeded and others -I would say the great majority- were left waiting, because the bus left them and almost never passed by again.

Just in case, you are wondering, I am not the exception. That way of life based on outward and mostly material achievements was the norm. You were successful if you had a big house, a high-paying job, influential and wealthy friendships, the partner plus her, fame and prestige.

That lifestyle proved to be a fallacy. In the previous two centuries and so far this one, depressions, disorders and suicides have increased exponentially; I am not saying it, see for yourselves the statistics.

On the other hand, unbridled consumerism and the pressure to succeed have wreaked moral and environmental havoc on the majority of the world's population and the planet in general. In this sense, there is no culture that can be spared.

All of the above, made many spiritual teachers, philosophers, therapists rethink the question in a sincere way. And at the same time, in a more convenient and interested way, so did the industry that previously promoted the culture of success and achievement, being forced to qualify their discourse.

However, changes do not happen overnight, paradigms coexist and complement each other, to use just one term. Economic or professional success is still the dominant criterion. Economists continue with their discourse of sustainable growth. And countries are still valued for their scientific achievements, their technological apparatus, their warriors and their wealth.

The most important question we have to ask ourselves is: Will we manage to make the changes at the individual and collective level that are needed for humanity to achieve a future of well-being, peace, equity and conscience that will allow us to save what is left of our beautiful planet? Will cryptocurrencies and new emerging technologies help to achieve these goals?

Personally, I believe that there are facts that illuminate so much darkness. However, it will dawn and we shall see. I am doing my bit, hopefully I can get to put up a sack, and I hope others will too.

Un gran saludo, con abrazo virtual incluido a esta gran comunidad, que apoya la escritura de calidad y a los que todavía no son tan visibles dentro de la gran colmena.

Desde bastante tiempo atrás y en forma desesperada desde hace más de un siglo, absolutamente todo el mundo se trató de montar en ese autobús llamado éxito. Muchos o para ser más preciso, algunos lo lograron y otros –yo diría que la gran mayoría- se quedaron esperando, porque el autobús los dejó y casi nunca el fulano volvió a pasar.

Por si acaso, se están preguntando, no soy la excepción. Esa forma de vida basada en logros exteriores y sobre todo materiales fue la norma. Eras exitoso si tenías una gran casa, un trabajo bien remunerado, influyentes y adineradas amistades, la pareja más ella, fama y prestigio.

Ese estilo de vida demostró ser una falacia. En los dos siglos anteriores y lo que va de éste, las depresiones, los trastornos y los suicidios han aumentado de forma exponencial; no lo digo yo, vean por ustedes mismos las estadísticas.

Por otro lado, el consumismo desenfrenado y la presión por triunfar han hecho estragos morales y ambientales a la mayoría de la población del mundo y al planeta en general. En ese sentido no hay cultura que se salve.

Todo lo anterior, hizo que de forma sincera muchos maestros espirituales, filósofos, terapeutas repensaran la cuestión. Y al mismo tiempo, de una forma más conveniente e interesada también lo hiciera la industria que antes promovió la cultura del éxito y el logro, viéndose obligados a matizar su discurso.

Sin embargo, los cambios no se dan de la noche a la mañana, los paradigmas conviven, se complementan por solo usar un término. El éxito económico o profesional sigue siendo el criterio dominante. Los economistas siguen con su discurso del crecimiento sostenible. Y los países se siguen valorando por sus alcances científicos, sus aparatos tecnológicos, guerrerista y por sus riquezas.

La pregunta más importante que nos tenemos que hacer es: ¿Lograremos hacer los cambios a nivel individual y colectivo que se necesitan para que la humanidad logre un futuro de bienestar, paz, equidad y conciencia, que permitan salvar lo que queda de nuestro hermoso planeta? ¿Ayudarán las criptomonedas y las nuevas tecnologías emergentes al logro de esos objetivos?

En lo personal, creo que hay hechos que iluminan tanta oscuridad. Sin embargo, amanecerá y veremos. Yo estoy poniendo mi granito de arena, ojalá pueda llegar a colocar un saco, y espero que otros también lo hagan.
