good day lovely hivers, my name is Lucky Ugo , some friends call me Luckydrums, yes it's because I play drums and I got the name years back when I was once so obsessed with drumming that I would unconsciously beat my leg or anything handy in a bid to make music. Recently I have also come to be referred to as the blackbelt guy, the story that led to this name is one I have decided to share some other time.
I joined this platform a few months back but haven't been very active because I didn't know how and where to start from, fortunately, I joined a hive discord channel where I met a bunch of loving and kind people like 
ABOUT MYSELF
Like I said my name is Lucky Ugo, I am from Abia state in Nigeria, I am the 5th child and last son of a family of eight(six children and parents), the sixth and last child happens to be the only female child of my parents, some family members once told me that if she had come before me that I probably would not have been born to my parents, according to them my parents needed a female child badly so they kept on trying until they got one.
That aside, I am a student of the university of Nigeria , currently studying civil engineering with hopes of being a prolific Engineer , one that would change the narrative of engineering in my country.
About my personality, I am a simple, cheerful and hardworking person, although I like to joke and play, I am very courteous, I respect people and I appreciate it when I am respected too, I make sure I apologise if I wrong anyone, I accept my mistakes and try to change for the better. I try to be rational and I look at things from different perspectives and so I don't judge people, I tend to understand people and their personalities. Although I like things to be done the right way , I believe people operate based on the level of knowledge and information they have and can access, so when we act amiss, it's because we lack understanding ,the right information and proper orientation , because we do not know better . So if the right information can be spread, the world would be a better place. Talking about lacking understanding and the right information, I was also a victim of that sometime ago, it was concerning the how to train a child or pets. Because I was spanked as a child and I grew up in an environment where pets and kids were spanked for wrong deeds or for being stubborn, I felt it was a normal way to correct and train a child. I didn't see how barbaric,inhumane and cruel such methods were, not until I got into an argument in the OCD discord group chat, although that day I was terribly lambasted for endorsing such Savage methods, I was still made to understand that the idea I had always had about such methods being alright was a wrong one. I later did further research and I found out better and proper training methods and I was also exposed to some negative psychological effects of such crude methods. I now know better and have since discarded such stupid ideas. I now nurse and spread the right information as regards child training and I try to educate people I come across that are still having such ideas , I believe with time everyone one would be enlightened and the world would be a better place.
I also don't like to be rushed, I like to take my time whenever I am doing anything so I can give my best, I really do not work so well with pressure, you'll get the best of me when I am calm.
I was told about this platform by a friend of mine , although he didn't say much about the platform because his intent at the time was to mock me and not invite me to the platform , he said something I found interesting and profitable, something that got me researching and that led to me joining this platform.
if you must know, this is what he said "some people are doing something profitable with their time, making impacts with their writing on different platforms like the HIVE PLATFORM and you're here wasting your time writing stuffs that no one would even see let alone appreciate ". I was penning down my thoughts into a short story and the fact that he said it was a waste of time really hurt me, but may be it was the truth because no one but myself read my stories, I didn't have the required audience neither did I have money to publish my writings, so what was the essence of the writing. That simple statement of his was the thrust that got me here, I didn't let what he said discourage me , I did my findings and later found out that the hive platform was actually real and people indeed did exploits from the platform. I was amazed at the opportunities present in this platform and I had made up my mind to sign-up.
I managed to sign up with the platform, it wasn't easy for me anyway, but i did. As I browsed through the hive platform, I saw different posts about different things by people from all works of life. There were a variety of communities and it was almost impossible not to find one befitting of your interest plus you could create one if you didn't find any
As I came on board, I joined the food community as I am a foodie too, it's something about me I think you all should know , I like food, all kinds of food, I even eat when I am bored, I am not picky, I like variety. When I was a kid, I was so close to my mum, and always helped her out in the kitchen, not like I did anything in particular, I was just there to keep her company and tell her boring stories about my day and my friends which she was obligated to listen to, I was always there with her whenever she was cooking and before I knew it I had learnt so well how to cook, I think I am now the best cook in my house. I now also make and sell small chops ( some kind of exotic snacks like springrolls, samosa etc) as a side business to support my school.
I learnt that in an eatery where I had once worked as a waiter, I hope to incorporate hive as one of my payment methods someday and I hope to get patronage from Nigerians in this platform, they can pay with hive also.
I am also an expert in making spaghetti (pasta), my recipes are second to none, I will be sharing some secrets with you all and since I've found a community of people with same interests, I can now let my mum and friends rest from my stories and food talks which they find uninteresting , so you guys better get ready to fill up that gap . I've really had a long history around food but I still have one challenge, no matter how much I eat, I'm still thin.
I find this platform amazing, The fact that I could touch people with my writings and still earn something as well is fascinating. This leads me to something else about myself you all should know. I am also a children teacher and I love children,
I hope to touch as many children's lives as possible, it's my idea of healing the world. I am an optimist and I believe the world can be better, you know like we say, "children are the future of tomorrow" and failure raise them to be reasonable, patriotic and responsible adults would only spell Doom for the world tomorrow. There have been a lot of chaos and poverty in my country and the world all over, and I think a huge chunk of this is caused by illiteracy and misinformation, so I think these things can be corrected by conscious and diligent educating of the kids, by instilling the right values and Orientation. I try to contribute my quota by teaching the children in my neighborhood, I teach math and other subjects like Civic education. sometimes I get paid to teach children struggling with learning too.
I love stories , I love to write and read stories, stories can be entertaining, informative and even therapeutic. It's one of the avenues I intend to utilize in sharing love and happiness to the world. Stories can be so magical, I recently read a story in this platform in 
my favorite author goes by the name CHIMAMANDA NGOZI ADICHIE, you can check out her books they are amazing too.
my hobbies are drumming and playing Scrabble.
About drumming, I am currently a drummer in the church where I worship, I started drumming years back when I was in high school although as a kid I've always been found to make drums out of containers and plates in the house. I think it's a talent because I learnt to drum so easily. I find it fulfilling to see people happy and elated when I play the drums. Touching lives for me is the essence of living.
I also love to play Scrabble,
it is actually my favorite board game, I also started playing the game in high school but I got really good at the game two years back after the Corona virus outbreak, during the time when the country was locked down and we all had to sit at home. I played with my siblings everyday and before I knew it I had become a pro. I like the game so much because it helps build my vocabulary and helps me improve my writing.
I recently fell in love with photography, I am mostly interested in flower photography and macro-photography, I find them so beautiful and soothing to the soul, they appeal to me in some way I can't explain, here are some pictures of flowers I took in my neighborhood
My mum says they're beautiful but I can't take her words for it , she always gives such reply to almost everything I do, you know how parents like to make their children feel good, they wouldn't want to say anything that would discourage them. So I would like to know what you guys sincerely think about these pictures, feel free to correct me and advise me on how I can improve my skill, I would really love to hear from you.
I love adventure and also like to travel, I am most times constrained because I lack enough money to finance my trips to places I dream of. I hope to travel around my country and the world, to behold the beauty of nature and to satisfy that long lasting yearning of my heart, my first major trip would be to "Ha long bay" in Vietnam and then to magarita island in Venezuela. WHY I AM HERE
Firstly, I must say that I am pleased with the Idea behind this platform, having fun and earning as well. I have found a place where I can share my thoughts,stories and ideas to people that appreciate it, where my contents will fulfill it's essence which is to touch and excite people. I came here to meet and connect with people from different places and different works of life, to develop myself intellectually and in every respect. I would love to know how other people see life and what things other people appreciate, I will be sharing my ideas and thoughts on different issues, share my food recipes, pictures and stories. I also came to learn new things and have fun too. I plan to help educate people on how we can make the world better through child education. I love for everyone around me to be happy and the world to be a better place so I would try to share exciting contents that would put smiles on our faces. I hope to get all your support and I hope my stay here would be a pleasant one.
