Tener un árbol de aguacate en el balcón es una proeza y en el mes de octubre, con un riguroso otoño, todavía lo es más. Esta plantita es nuestra consentida y nuestro orgullo. La pastoreamos cariñosamente, sacándola al sol cuando hace buen tiempo. Guareciéndola en la sala cuando el viento está fuerte o el frío es fuerte.
Having an avocado tree on the balcony is a feat and in the month of October, with a rigorous autumn, it is even more so. This little plant is our spoiled and our pride. We graze it lovingly, taking it out in the sun in good weather. Sheltering it in the room when the wind is strong or the cold is strong.
Para captarlo en toda su esbeltez lo subí a la mesita del balcón, pero no puedo dejarlo allí, pues el viento nos mostró su fuerza tumbando otra planta. El tamaño de sus hojas es impresionante y acaba de sacar un cogollito nuevo.
To capture it in all its slenderness, I raised it to the balcony table, but I can't leave it there, because the wind showed us its strength, knocking down another plant. The size of its leaves is impressive and it just took a new bud.
