I am a photographer, well not really a full-blown one though, kind of an amateur photographer but one thing is for certain, I try to document and freeze time digitally in photos for friends and families and even strangers that pay me for it, or sometimes don't. I am not very good with words, writing that is. As a photographer, amateur photographer sorry, I prefer my photos to tell their own story to different people. I want them to mean different things to different people, to appeal to that part of their brain that loves aesthetics, because I do too.
KEEP THE FIRE BURNING
One thing Id love to tell every aspiring photographer or amateur like me, or even any human being going through a hard time, (i guess we all are) is to keep the fire burning. Keep at what you do and don't give in. A wise man once said
You only truly fail when you stop trying.
USE WHATEVER RESOURCES AVAILABLE
Maybe that wise man was me, lol. Even, Technically you don't achieve what you dream by stoping. I started my photography journey with a cell phone that has a terrible camera. It was so bad viewers of my photo would think I edited terrible, still, I kept shooting. I realized the phone wasn't helping then I started lending phones from total strangers on the road to take the picture of a cool flower or sky or someone even. I started producing better Images. I started to learn the basic level of photo editing from a senior colleague
, amazingly helpful, he was. I kept on shooting and shooting and I enjoyed every bit of it. I started to lend DSLRs,(digital camera) from friends and everyone I could find because I figured it was better than a regular cell phone and indeed it was. I was bewildered, so something is out there that can produce even better images, then I set out to working and trying to earn something to get one for myself.
WISHES DO COME TRUE, SOMETIMES
Yes, it happened. I finally got an old entry-level but really effective DSLR from a good friend
, It was that big dream-come-true moment for me. I was ecstatic, I wanted to shoot everything and anything that moves or doesn't, lol. I still am working to get a better one with lenses, i.e kits, and all that bollocks. Yikes, I never knew it was just the beginning but, I am going to get my dream camera, a Nikon d850 which is waaaaaaaaaaaaay out of my budget. If I am sold I still wouldn't afford it, haha.I would just keep growing
All I am trying to tell you is growth is everything. You wouldn't wake up to your dream job, or life or wife or whatever, maybe you even might. Just keep going, keep building one brick at a time and if you can do two or three or even ten bricks, go for it, just keep growing and developing. I do hope you draw inspiration from my story to start or follow through with that career you've always wanted.
Thank you so much for reading, it was amazing sharing my story with my Hive family. I took all the photos above with my smartphone and if you want to see more, you can follow me on instagram or on facebook. Till next time, Adios.
