Since I volunteered at parkrun this morning and I wasn't feeling that motivated to squeeze a run in, I thought I really should do a walk this afternoon.
But more than that, I was feeling restless so I thought I might run ahead a bit and then come back periodically to meet my Mister again as he walked.
He did parkrun in the middle of a 12km long run today so I didn't expect him to run more. But... he opted to jog with me.
So our planned "walk" between rain showers turned into a run/walk or should I call it a "walk/jog"? That's maybe more accurate.
Actually, if I'm going to be the most correct here I should label it a:
"walk/jog the downhill and flat/walk the uphill/backtrack to a single track that I wasn't planning to walk today/jog that whole mostly-flat-occasionally-downhill-single-track/walk the main tracks and the road home".
Yep, that's more accurate. But very long-winded. Well, then that's pretty accurate description of how I'm feeling at present. And lest this drag on any longer, let me point you to some photos.
Here: a flower. Taken by Brad (the photo, not the flower. The flower was not hurt in the making of this post).
And here: A photo of my one shod, still socked feet and my now 'christened with awesome mud' Merrell Vapour Gloves that have, officially, had their first run with me. Photo also by, the ever patient, Brad.
Some kind proof that I did some kind of exercise that is less than perfectly recorded, but close enough for these purposes. Screenshot photo by moi (that's me ;P) from my Garmin app.
I just finished a 3.12km running that lasted about 0hh:35mm:16ss !
