I’ve noticed that these days people here on Hive have been talking about turning 50, about the supposed invisibility of women at that age, and things along those lines. I read, as part of an initiative by the Holos&Lotus Community, many different and insightful opinions, and I understood them, because it’s a topic each person experiences in their own way, and because it’s natural that when time passes and we suddenly realise that life isn’t a rehearsal, we tend to become thoughtful.
Both men and women addressed the subject, which brings even more interesting perspectives.
As for me, I’ve been thinking about this for a while now—not about invisibility, but about how the wheel of life is sliding through my kingdom towards the half‑century mark with a speed I can’t quite explain… it’s fast, it feels as if it will never slow down again… well, yes, one day it inevitably will.
So I kept thinking about this idea of invisibility and concluded that the one person I cannot be invisible to is myself. I care very little now about what others say or think of me.
And since, as I said, one day this ball rolling downhill will come to a stop… why not enjoy what remains of the journey by taking care of our bodies, our minds, and keeping all toxicity away from our lives, opening ourselves to genuine love? The kind that doesn’t question, doesn’t judge, and helps us grow.
I’ve been given a push for all of this — and not a small one ;) … I truly appreciate it. Loving oneself is the very first thing one must do in life. Just as practising kindness not only towards others but also towards ourselves is essential; we must be mindful of the words we use when we speak to ourselves and of how we treat ourselves. There are patterns we may repeat because, at some point, we lived with them — they became part of our way of being and reacting. However, once we become aware of this, we can say “enough!”.
How could you possibly be invisible if, by loving yourself, you carry such a high vibe — one that spreads wherever you go?
This is the case with Patty Bring, for example. And what better example to follow… I told myself. She started at 45, I think, so I’m already late.

You see, this is my next challenge, and I’ve already begun preparing myself.
😀
So… for the moment, my plan is to keep riding my bike, which is a form of active meditation for me. I’ll continue looking after my physical health; after all, the body is our temple. If we don’t have good health, all the everyday problems disappear and only one remains — the most relevant and distressing one: poor health.
As for the mind, I’ll try not to overthink too much. I’m a natural overthinker, so there’s work to be done.
I prefer life to be full of challenges. I’ll stay active. I’ll get up every time I fall, to sort out whatever problem appears along the way, and I’ll also practise trusting that the Universe always has a better plan for me. And above all, whatever it may be, may it find me in motion.
