I just finished a 5.21km running that lasted about 0hh:30mm:56ss !
Katzenjammer means 'lament of the cat' and could refer to the noises our cat was making in the early hours of this morning. I think it started about 5am and went on for some time. That did not put me in the best of moods when I got up. I still wanted to run, but was not feeling like doing anything too demanding.
I decided to just go for a jog around the fields over the railway. It is going to be another warm day, but it was not too bad at 8am. I might have taken a longer loop, but I could see someone up ahead where there was not really enough room to get by, so I did a shorter route. Down by the river it was a little cooler in the shade.
I saw a couple of other runners out. We tend to acknowledge each other with a nod or a wave, but they are not people I know.
I was quite surprised to beat some personal segment records as I had not been going for it. It may just be that I have not run them much in that direction. I will have to try and set better times another day.
I noticed the record for one segment was 5s when it took me a minute. Looking up the run where that was done it looks a lot like the guy was actually flying a plane as it starts and ends at the airfield up the road and has several loops over Arlesey that do not relate to any paths. You do see a few crazy times on Strava, sometimes due to leaving the clock running as they drive home from parkrun. It is possible to edit those out.
I expect I shall have a swim later. I can swim lengths of a few strokes each in our pool. It should be warming up a little more, but it is okay once you are in anyway.
Run free and stay well.
