I just finished a 3.013km running that lasted about 0hh:27mm:19ss !
Today started fairly well. It was nicely cool for running as I cycled up the hill to Letchworth parkrun. There were lots of people there again. I tried not to go off too quick and got up the hill okay. At the end of the grass section a lady tripped over behind me, but I heard her say she was okay. A few minutes later I tripped on the gravel path section and went down hard. I grazed down my left side including knee, hiip and elbow plus both palms. I got up and walked to the finish with various people asking if I was okay. Some of the wonderful volunteers found the first aid kit and bandaged up the worst parts. They were concerned if I could get home, but I did not feel that bad.
I started off walking with the bike, but decided to try and ride to get back quicker. It was okay if I took it gently. At Fairfield I stopped to buy a paper. Nobody commented on the blood running down my arm. The rest of the journey went well.
As I got ready to shower some gravel fell out of my shorts. I was a bit sore as the water hit me, but did my best to clean up. My son helped get a dressing on my elbow, which is the worst bit.
I was supposed to be busking with the band today, but will not be up to that. They can cope without me. I did play at an open mic in Arlesey on Thursday and that was really good fun. The small audience seemed to enjoy it.
I shall be taking it easy for a few days to recover, but hope to be running again soon. I am conscious that I take a little longer to heal these days. It could have been worse.
Stay well and run free.
