Hello and welcome back to my blog.
In my previous post, I shared how I found a nether fortress. But it was too far out and I was very deep in the nether so I decided to head back. My food was also giving me a tough time. So, the best thing was to bail out and restock first.
I have an iron farm set up close to the main village but the zombie I captured somehow died and I ran out of name tags too. So, I went in search of nametags.
There are many new biomes added to the game recently through a mod but to see them you have to venture far out from the explored area. Well, I took some food, repaired my armour and tools and went out.
I choose to sail over the vast ocean towards the west direction. I saw a spooky-looking hut on the shore.
I was looking for shipwrecks but I had never seen these types of houses before. At first, I thought it was a village and the mod pack just added this new look to the houses. As I got closer, I saw another house just beside the first one.
When I entered the house I saw a ladder taking me to the upper floors. The first floor was nothing special, just some cobwebs and spooky and weird wood planks.
There was another floor and that contained a chest. When I opened the chest it changed my inventory UI as well. That was a nice touch. Anyways, the chest contained a lot of interesting things.
Golden carrots are one of the best foods in the game. But there were 4 "Shulker boxes" (which at first I thought were just green concrete). Shulker Boxes!!!!!
This is a great find for me, they are made from shulkers (found in the end dimension). And finding those here was a great feeling. These are like chests which you can pick up and store in your inventory and the content is retained in them.
The other house had some good loot as well but nothing special. Just some gold and golden carrots.
The sun was about to set and when I looked at the sun I realised it is one of the biomes added to the game. This is some sort of spooky biome with abandoned houses and other interesting structures. The leaves on the trees were dried up and called spooky leaves. There was spooky sand and stone as well.
There was another interesting structure made out of weird stone blocks. I tried to look around for hidden chests but couldn't find them.
Interestingly, mobs were not spawning here even at night. Looks like even the undead were frightened to spawn here.
Even though there were no mobs around everything was trying to hurt you. For instance, this small grassy plant inflicts damage when you touch it. It is called Red grass or something. I found that interesting and collected a lot of those as well. They will be perfect to experiment on zombies.
There was mud which acted like a quicksand and if you fall you sunk in it slowly. It also inflicts some damage as well. This was an interesting block so I collected a lot of that and stored it in my shulker box.
This weird structure reminds me of the graveyard. I tried to dig the sand below it but I found no chests or other treasure. Not sure if there is some mechanism around this thing. Maybe it is just for aesthetics.
This was an interesting biome full of weird-looking blocks. The grass, wood, sand, stone everything was unique. It was not a very large biome but I loved to explore it. I found some interesting plants which give light in the dark. This was an unexpected and beautiful adventure.
I didn't find the nametag but found a new land with lots of interesting blocks and items. Those Shulker boxes alone were worth the trip.
