My long rides are only long for me right now as I work up to the 50 mile ride May 17th. I find a protein powder drink before rides gives me ample energy and fuel to get through the 1 to 1.5 hours of riding I am getting at a time. The temps have been cooler still so I am not guzzling water yet but still try to make sure to get half a pint in me each ride. I carry about 500 calories with me in case I bonk. One of the key things I make sure I have is my med kit that I 3dprinted a container for that fits my front bottle cage. It's something I find a necessity to have in case. My under seat bag holds my spare tube, tools, and pack of tissues. Weather is easy as I am ALWAYS checking it and generally well aware of the next days incoming weather patterns.
My cycling "closet" is just a shelf right now as I just started accumulating clothing gear. 3 jerseys, 2 pair shorts, calf sleeves, gloves, helmet, and shoes all fit into a rather compact space. I am sure I will need more space in the future but with our small crammed house I'm happy I managed the shelf... Lol.
