Hello my dear Hivers of the community! I hope you’re all well and safe. How was your day?
Today, I just want to share a simple story about how my day went. It's just a usual day that started ordinary but turned out to be a little special in its own way.
This morning, one of my pupils handed me a fruit called “kape.” It’s a wild fruit that grows in the forest and isn’t something you’ll easily find in markets. The fruit has a hard, brownish shell with patterns that look like tiny scales a bit like a small pine cone. It's really unique and beautiful when you look closely. Due to curiousity, I took a few photos to capture its rare beauty before trying it.
It's around 10 o'clock in the morning, snack time. My daughter is with me so, I let my her taste it too. But the moment she took a bite, she made a funny face, haha. It was too sour for her! I couldn’t help but laugh.
Later that afternoon, when my husband came to fetch us, I had him try it as well. Just like my daughter, he found it too sour and said, “Asloma uy!” It's a visayan phrase for too sour. We ended up laughing and chatting about how different fruits we have tried.
Fast forward, when we finally got home, a sweet surprise awaited us. There's maruya! It's a fried ripe bananas coated in sugar, perfectly golden and crisp. After tasting the sour wild fruit earlier, this sweet treat balanced everything out.
And that’s how my day went. It has a mix of simple joys, little surprises, and moments that make ordinary days worth remembering. The sour fruit Kape and maruya definitely made my day extra special. From sour to sweet! I think that's how life goes as well.
Thanks for reading this far! Til my next post!
