Hello everybody! Last time I showed you the interior decoration of the central part of the palace. The time has come to show the tower the main attraction of the southern side of the palace - the four-tiered tower.
An exhibition of two large paintings located on the first floor of the tower.
In order to show which building we are talking about, I will show how the tower looks from the outside.
It was originally planned that the tower of the palace would have three floors. Having received the palace in his possession in the 30s of the 18th century, Field Marshal Paskevich initiated the construction of this tower. The building of the tower had the features of the Renaissance and was supposed to bring to Gomel "the architectural accent of the Italian palazzo." However, later the fourth floor was completed, making the tower the dominant of the entire palace. Before entering the tower building, visitors enter the theater premises.
And right after it there is a long corridor connecting the central part of the palace and the tower. This place houses sculptures and some thematic exhibitions.
On the ground floor of the tower, there are many interior items. But the first floor of the tower itself has been recreated in its original style. High shelves, huge door arches and patterns give this place an aesthetic grandeur.
Each floor is a separate room with a recreated interior of the palace rooms of the 18th-19th centuries. The ground floor is decorated with foreign furniture, collectible decorations and items.
I liked the bronze mantel clock called Coriolanus and Volumnia. They were made in Paris Around 1810.
The second floor looks like a reception area. Judging by the stories of the guides, in this place were the private chambers of the field marshal's wife.
The Pink Room has stately columns and many artifacts such as furniture, paintings and 18th century furnishings. There are even examples of weapons from that time. But they are in this place for decoration.
The third floor is a library that has collected a huge amount of ancient literature. This is the workplace of Field Marshal Paskevich in which he spent time issuing decrees, standing plans and reflecting on the future.
The table is located in the center of the room, and around there are high shelves with numerous literature. Paskevich was fond of the history of ancient Rome and created the history of his own country. The entire orcotic composition is complemented by statues and otledbny decor elements.
There is even a small copy of one of the most famous paintings "The Last Supper".
The last floor was built last. Currently, an exhibition of Belarusian art is located here. There are few items related to ancient art.
In this room, interactive exhibitions and small performances on the theme of the country's art are mainly held. My attention was drawn to a statue of a naked woman made entirely of wood. An interesting kind of art.
The tower of the Rumyantsev-Paskevich Palace is truly unique. This is a historical place that has absorbed unique samples of interior design, furniture, decorations and costume. When I was in different rooms, I was overcome by conflicting feelings. It seemed like I was in the past.
During the excursion, we managed to learn a lot of interesting facts and get aesthetic and visual pleasure. Hope you enjoyed this virtual tour of the Rumyantsev-Paskevich Palace.
