This building is epidemiological unit, it is a medical center that mostly tackles public health surveillance among many other task. Many people come to treat disease and other ailment that does not require a hospital admission. It is located somewhere in Benue state Nigeria precisely the state capital Makurdi, directly opposite Benue state university second gate.

Muchas personas acuden para tratar enfermedades y otras dolencias que no requieren ingreso hospitalario. Se encuentra en algún lugar del estado de Benue, Nigeria, precisamente en la capital del estado, Makurdi, justo enfrente de la segunda puerta de la universidad estatal de Benue.
The epidemiological units Benue state was establish and funded by the federal government. The structure itself has been in existence for over twenty-five years, and it became very old and dirty, yet many patience troop in for their medications. If ask me why? Perhaps I'll say that the reason is because it is a government facility and most of their treatment is free of charge. But the looks of the structure is not qualify to call a medical facility at all.

La estructura en sí ha existido durante más de veinticinco años, y se volvió muy vieja y sucia, sin embargo, muchos pacientes acuden en tropa por sus medicamentos. Si me preguntan por qué? The academic staff union of the university (ASSU) mainly the public universities in Nigeria were on strike for over eight month. The implication is that the universities had been shut down for eight months which is practically one complete year of academic session wasted. The strike was called off and the universities reopened early this week.

When I returned school I could not believe my eyes. Something very interesting actually happened that beat my imagination till today.

The building had an architectural touch and renewal that transformed the outlook to this beautiful thing we have here. It is not as if a new construction was done No, it was that same dilapidated building that is been transformed to this. I call it “Architectural taste” it means the creativity of an architect. How I wish I have a picture of the old building for you to see; perhaps it would have given you a perfect understanding of what am talking about. I did not know the building would be renovated but when I saw it all renovated, my love for architecture increased the more. It made me appreciate architectural works.
El edificio tuvo un toque arquitectónico y de renovación que transformó la perspectiva a esta cosa tan hermosa que tenemos aquí. No es como si se hiciera una nueva construcción No, era ese mismo edificio en ruinas que se ha transformado en este. Yo lo llamo “gusto arquitectónico”, significa la creatividad de un arquitecto. Cómo me gustaría tener una imagen del antiguo edificio para que la veas; tal vez le habría dado una comprensión perfecta de lo que estoy hablando. No sabía que el edificio sería renovado, pero cuando lo vi todo renovado, mi amor por la arquitectura aumentó aún más. Me hizo apreciar las obras arquitectónicas.
Things were not just changed but there were also an expansion in some areas of the building. Let’s start with the roofing design.
No solo se cambiaron cosas sino que también hubo una ampliación en algunas áreas del edificio. Comencemos con el diseño del techo.
The roofing design that was on the building was flat roof. But now it is changed to gable roof, and I love the architectural idea because it is a beautiful designed better than the old flat root that had plenty tree leaves and filth stocked on it. Anything that drops on the flat roof, stays and does not float down. That is not the case with the gable roof; nothing goes onto top of it and remains there. Even the color of the roofing sheet is based on the architect's taste, selected with the color of the outer wall in mind.
El diseño del techo que estaba en el edificio era un techo plano. Pero ahora se cambió a techo a dos aguas, y me encanta la idea arquitectónica porque es un hermoso diseño mejor que la antigua raíz plana que tenía muchas hojas de árboles y suciedad acumulada. Todo lo que cae sobre el techo plano, se queda y no baja flotando. Ese no es el caso con el techo a dos aguas; nada va encima de él y permanece allí. Incluso el color de la lámina del techo se basa en el gusto del arquitecto, seleccionado teniendo en cuenta el color de la pared exterior.
Again, if you look at the roof closely, you'll see from the very top of it a thunder arrestor. It is to protect the building from thunder strikes.
Glass was not used in covering the windows. It was a wood constructed with tiny holes, window net that allows unwanted dust penetration in the offices. But as you can see, glass windows are now fixed. This makes the building, not only beautify but also protects the dust from sneaking in.
In the offices, there were no fans, but now you can see for yourself, how beautiful it looks.
Nuevamente, si miras el techo de cerca, verás desde la parte superior un pararrayos. Es para proteger el edificio de los rayos.
No se utilizó vidrio para cubrir las ventanas. Era una madera construida con agujeros diminutos, red de ventana que permite la entrada de polvo no deseado en las oficinas. Pero como puede ver, las ventanas de vidrio ahora están arregladas. Esto hace que el edificio, no solo se embellece, sino que también evita que el polvo se cuele.
En las oficinas no había ventiladores, pero ahora puedes ver por ti mismo lo hermoso que se ve.
Talking about the floor, it was just cemented with sharp sands that generate unusual dust on it. But the beauty now is that the floor all and smoothly tiles.
Hablando del piso, solo fue cementado con arenas afiladas que generan un polvo inusual sobre él. Pero la belleza ahora es que el piso está todo y suavemente embaldosado.
When you look at the outer wall, it is not just straight as it were. That is the reason I love the structure the most. I always say that every good architectural work must live you with something to talk about. You must stand in owe of the design as I am with this one.

The pillars are also there to hold the building strong, especially the Corridor.
There many other additional architectural features that is added for the beauty of this building that I may have not enough information to talk about, because I was not allowed access into some of the offices to explore and take pictures.

Lest I forget, there is also created space within the building that is separated from the main. It is more as if the main building is surrounding the space. and they created the space for other visitors that are being treated at a time been.
