That doesn't mean that adults can't enjoy it too; at least that's the case for me, because I've just read a book that I really liked, not only because it presents us with a story, but also because we can delight in five tales that honestly leave us frozen in our seats. Although we may believe that children and young people cannot be considered excellent readers, Sebastián has proven the opposite, because while others underestimate them, this writer has distinguished himself by offering stories full of fear, terror, and excitement that this audience loves.

What I like about Sebastián is that he uses any corner of the city to cause fear and terror. In other words, the simplest, most everyday places can be the most conducive settings for creating a horror story. For example, if you are used to taking a specific route to get home, one day it gets dark and you hear a macabre noise in the silence, making the walk home seem endless and terrifying. This is what Sebastián creates in his readers, and if we are able to feel that fear, no matter how simple the plot may be, then the writer has undoubtedly achieved his goal. And it is precisely in the book Terror in the City where we will feel that deep fear as we delve into each of the stories that Sebastián presents to us.

What is interesting about this book is that it immerses us in different stories that could happen within the same setting. Each of us can be the protagonist of these stories, which can be experienced in any corner, street, or alley of the city. The author takes us to an unknown world within places known to all of us; without a doubt, fear can be experienced anywhere, even within our own homes, and that is precisely the point of this literary work. On the other hand, the author manages to play with our minds, so that when you walk anywhere, you feel that someone is following you, that you feel a macabre wind ruffling your hair, or that, from one moment to the next, something touches your shoulder.

Now, there are many characteristics that appear in horror stories, and one of them is the feeling of curiosity that characters may feel when faced with any event. If you hear a strange noise, it's normal for the character to go looking for it and almost always end up being killed or getting a good scare. The truth is that the pace of the stories seems real, as if we were being told macabre legends or simply watching a horror movie in our minds. But I imagine you're wondering, What stories does the book offer?; Well, don't go away, because you'll be able to feel everything I've told you when you read the stories Sebastián offers us.

The first one is Sisters of Blood: here we see the story of a boy who wants to fit in at his new place of residence. Suddenly, he meets two sisters who, at first glance, seem very strange and appear to be hiding something. The truth is that the house where these girls live hides extremely dark secrets. One of the girls keeps newspaper clippings about very macabre crimes. Inside that house, there is a locked room, but curiosity killed the cat, and the boy and Ursula go to that room, where facts are revealed that cannot be told here. From my point of view, inside that house, there is a very close border between the living and the dead. Is Julian dealing with ghosts?

The Woman in the Rocks: Although it is true that this is a story of terror in the city, it takes place near the coast. The theme of apparitions is presented here; however, these are not common ghost-like apparitions. The truth is that events occur where they should not, and fear of the unknown is the central theme of the story. We see a group of kids who, while having fun, encounter something that looks like a woman; they see this figure who is suffering from something that has happened to her. In this case, the author makes us understand that the sea functions as a perfect graveyard, where it leaves on its shores the things it rejects, which serve to instill fear and terror in those nearby.

The third story Terror in the City; and this is where terror can be lurking around every corner. As I said before, everyday life can turn into terror, and when you walk around, you can stumble upon anything that isn't necessarily human. In A Horror Story, the story of terror is presented within the story; that is, we see some kids chatting about scary stories, they make fun of how silly the characters in those stories can be; however, what they are telling suddenly becomes real and they end up living what they are telling.

To conclude Choose Your Own Death; this story seems like a maze with no way out, and from my point of view, it is similar to when we have nightmares. On the one hand, we try to wake up and cannot; or we simply want to run away from death or some sinister event, and no matter how hard we try, we are always in the same place. That is what this book refers to; the truth is that you have to make life-or-death decisions, but wherever you go and from what I could internalize, every path you take is worse than the other. In short, these five stories show us that the city can be the most dangerous place in the world, and even if you feel like you can handle anything, they remind you that every corner is a reason to be afraid. Es sabido que el terror es un género que se disfruta a cualquier edad; por ello, hoy tenemos una obra escrita por Sebastián Pedrozo, quien es un maestro para desarrollar historia básicamente dirigidas al público infantil y juvenil. Eso no quiere decir que el público adulto no pueda disfrutarla; por lo menos es mi caso, porque acabo de leer un libro que me ha gustado mucho ya que no solo nos presenta una historia; sino que podemos deleitarnos con 5 relatos que sinceramente nos dejan helados. Aunque podamos creer que los niños y jóvenes no podrían ser considerados como excelentes lectores; Sebastián ha demostrado lo contrario, porque si otros los subestiman, este escritor se ha caracterizado por ofrecer esas letras cargadas de miedo, terror y mucha emoción que le encanta a ese público.

Lo que me gusta de Sebastián; es que utiliza cualquier rincón de la ciudad para causar miedo y terror. Es decir; los lugares más simples y cotidianos, pueden ser los escenarios más propicios para crear una historia de terror. Por ejemplo; si estás acostumbrado a tomar un camino en específico para llegar a tu casa, un día se hace de noche y podrás escuchar un ruido macabro dentro de aquel silencio, haciendo el camino a casa sumamente interminable y escalofriante. Todo esto es lo que genera Sebastián en sus lectores y si somos capaces de sentir ese miedo, por más simple que sea la trama; sin duda alguna, el escritor ha logrado su cometido. Y justamente en el libro Terror en la Ciudad, es donde vamos a sentir ese miedo profundo al adentrarnos en cada una de las historias que Sebastián nos propone.

Lo interesante de este libro, es que nos sumergirnos en relatos diferentes que pueden suceder dentro del mismo ambiente. Cada uno de nosotros podemos ser los protagonistas de esos relatos, los cuales se pueden vivir en cualquier rincón, calle o callejón de la ciudad. El autor nos lleva a un mundo desconocido dentro lugares conocidos por todos nosotros; es que sin duda alguna, el miedo se puede vivir en cualquier lugar, hasta dentro de nuestra propia casa y ese es, precisamente el punto de esta obra literaria. Por otra parte; el autor logra que nuestra mente juegue con nosotros, que cuendo andes por cualquier lugar, sientas que alguien te persigue, que sientas un viento macabro que agita tu pelo; o simplemente de un momento a otro, algo toca tu hombro.

Ahora; existen muchas características que se presentan en las historias de terror y una de ellas, es la sensación de curiosidad que pueden sentir los personajes ante cualquier evento. Si escuchas un ruido raro; es normal que el personaje vaya a la búsqueda de ello y casi siempre termine eliminado o reciba un susto de los buenos. Lo cierto es; que el ritmo de las historias parecen reales, es como si nos estuvieran narrando leyendas macabras o simplemente pareciera que vemos en nuestra mente una película de terror. Pero me imagino que te preguntarás ¿Cuáles son los relatos que ofrece el libro?; bueno, no te vayas porque todo lo que te he contado lo podrás sentir al leer las historias que nos ofrece Sebastián.

La primera de ellas es Hermanas de Sangre: aquí vemos la historia de un niño que desea encajar en su nuevo lugar de residencia. De pronto conoce a dos hermanas que a primera vista se notan muy extrañas y parece que esconden algo. Lo cierto es, que en la casa donde vivien estas niñas se esconden secretos sumamente oscuros, una de esas niñas guarda recortes de periódico donde están presentes crímenes muy macabros. Dentro de esa casa existe un cuarto que está bloqueado, pero como la curiosidad mató al gato; el niño junto a Úrsula se dirigen a ese cuarto y es allí donde se revelan hechos que aquí no se pueden contar. Desde mi punto de vista; dentro de esa casa existe una frontera muy cercana con respecto a los vivos y los muertos; ¿Estará Julián tratando con fantasmas?.

La Mujer en las Rocas: si bien es cierto que se trata de terror en la ciudad; esta historia ocurre hacia los sectores de la costa. Aquí se presenta el tema de las apariciones; sin embargo, no son apariciones comunes estilo fantasmas. Lo cierto es; que ocurren hechos donde no deberían ocurrir, el miedo a lo que se desconce es el tema central del relato. Vemos a un grupo de chicos que estando divirtiéndose, se topan con algo que parece una mujer; ellos ven a esta figura que está sufriendo por algo que le ha sucedido. En este caso; el autor nos hace entender que el mar funciona como un perfecto cementerio, donde deja a sus orillas las cosas rechazadas por él y que apuntan a proporcionar miedo y terror a los que están cerca.

El tercer relato Terror en la Ciudad; y es aquí donde el terror puede estar en cualquier rincón por donde andes. Como dije antes; lo cotidiano se puede transformar en terror y cuando caminas, te puedes tropezar con cualquier cosa que necesariamente no es humano. En Una de Terror, se presenta la historia del terror dentro de la historia; es decir, vemos a unos chicos charlando sobre historia de miedo, ellos se burlan de lo tonto que pueden ser los personajes en esas historias; sin embargo, lo que están contando de pronto se vuelve real y ellos acaban viviendo lo que cuentan.

Para finalizar Elige tu propia Muerte; este relato parece como un laberinto que no tiene salida y desde mi punto de vista; es parecido a cuando nosotros tenemos pesadillas. Por un lado tratamos de despertar y no podemos; o simplemente queremos correr para escapar de la muerte o de algún hecho siniestro y por más que tratemos de hacerlo siempre estamos en el mismo lugar. Eso es a lo que hace referencia este libro; lo cierto es, que debes tomar decisiones de vida o muerte, sin embargo, vayas donde vayas y por lo que pude internalizar; cada camino que tomes es peor que el otro. En fin; estos 5 relatos nos demuestran que la ciudad puede ser el lugar más peligroso de mundo y aunque sientas que puedes con todo; te recuerda que cada rincón es motivo para sentir miedo, saludos y nos vemos pronto.
